Friday night, I walked into the garage (for the nth time this week!) and look at the motorcycle gear spread in an orderly fashion on the worktable, like how stores proudly display them for sale. Motorcycle googles, leather motorcycle gloves, compass (as if I’d ever use them), some small hand tools, my ever reliable Swiss army knife, etc., just look grand when laid out on a table. I walk towards the black and grey polyester motorcycle jacket that proudly hangs right under the shelf where my HJC helmet rests, and I just stood there.

MY BATMAN’S BAT CAVE FANTASY

Gazing at the motorcycle jacket’s stunning design, the zipper venting on the right places, Velcro fasteners adding flair and style, and lovingly fingering the safety helmet’s finish, I cannot deny the boyish pride and joy that swells within me. “Boy! This sure looks like a scene in the bat cave. Bruce Wayne checks out his gadgets.” The safety helmet, the motorcycle jacket, the motorcycle gloves, and the rest of the motorcycle accessories could just pass for what you’d find inside the cave under the Wayne Manor—never mind my wife’s rolling eyes. This is the part where she’d walk away, hands in the air, in mock protest muttering something about being married to a middle-aged adolescent.

MY KAWASAKI ZX-7RR

In the middle of the shed is the highlight of this almost perfectly staged setting. Lighted by a hanging lamp (my flair for dramatic effects) is my ultimate source of guiltless, unbridled pride and joy (next to my wife and kids, of course): the sleek, glossy-finished black and grey Kawasaki ZX-7RR sport bike. This baby packs a 749 cc in-line 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine. This motorcycle specie is actually a monster that could max a swooshing 180 miles per hour.

IT’S FRIDAY NIGHT!

I don’t know about you but my weekend starts Friday nights. For the last time this week, I am going to enjoy my motorcycle gear in its immaculate condition—polishing them again, rearranging, taking stock, or just simply lovingly staring at the items. I give extra special attention to the HJC AC-3 carbon fiber helmet.

Having one of those reliable carbon fiber helmets would at least give your wife the assurance that his middle-aged adolescent husband could enjoy his weekend adventure with the proper safety measures.

THE DARK KNIGHT SHOWS HIS FACE

Among the rest of my motorcycle gear, I think my HJC AC-3 carbon fiber helmet deviates a little from my stylish get-up. Ideally, to complete my majestic “dark knight” rider persona, one of those agv helmets—especially the K series would be perfect to give the rider a more mystifying, “fast-like-a-bullet” image.

NOTHING LIKE THE WIND ON MY FACE

Don’t get me wrong with my earlier childish ramblings about Batman and his gadgets; they’re just to spice up the anticipation of my weekend getaway. This “image” thing is nothing compared to something that is truly more important to me—this feeling of being free, being alive, feeling the world swish and swoosh by me as I speed on.

With the right motorcycle gears and your safety helmet on, it’s simply priceless.
