You don’t need to be taught over and over that one of the most effective and powerful ways of obtaining the best position in search engines is through link building. Because of this, there are already a lot of webmasters that would either send you an e-mail or drop you a call, requesting for a link exchange with you. In the same way, you may already have a list of high-ranking related websites that you may like to exchange links with anytime soon.

Reciprocal links, in essence, are good. But if you want to make sure that you can establish a better ranking and be able to maintain it for a very long time, you should go for non-reciprocal link development. This is because it has more weight than reciprocal links.

What do you get from non-reciprocal link development?

There are two very excellent reasons why non-reciprocal links appear to be more preferred than reciprocal links:

1. You can save time and energy monitoring the links. In case you don’t know, it’s already a common strategy among unscrupulous webmasters to add your link to their website just so you will add theirs to your webpages. However, they will remove your link without your knowledge later on. This is to make it appear to search engines that these are non-reciprocal links and that you wouldn’t be able to benefit from an increase in their ranking. On the other hand, you may also have to watch out for the links you added into their website, as a decrease in their rank may significantly affect yours.

With non-reciprocal linking, you no longer have to worry about these things. These are one-way links that are often permanent, simply because the webmaster believes that your link is very much useful to their Internet visitors.

2. Non-reciprocal links have more value than reciprocal links. Webmasters add your link to their sites because they understand the relevancy and the overall worth of your page to Internet users. Meanwhile, search engines highly favor relevant pages. They are easily indexed.

How do you get a non-reciprocal link?

Indeed, non-reciprocal link development seems to be one of the best methods to make sure that you can drive traffic to your site, increase your ROI, and boost your rankings in search engines. However, it’s not going to be real easy. After all, you actually know by now that there’s no such thing in this world. Nevertheless, if you just learn to practice the following strategies, one-way links will never stop pouring in.

1. Submit your websites to directories. Perhaps one of the easiest methods for non-reciprocal linking is to submit your web pages to directories. Oftentimes the requirements aren’t that difficult to meet. As long as you can prove that your website is worth adding to the directory, it’s unlikely that you wouldn’t get accepted.

There are, however, two ways on how you can accomplish this. You can settle for organic listing, in which you don’t have to pay any fee. It will take a while, though, before you can find your link in the directory. If you want something really speedy, you can always pay a guaranteed review, which will also give you a good spot in directories.

2. Develop a compelling content. There’s definitely a well-thought-out reason why people would call content as king in the World Wide Web. This is because majority of Internet users dig for information more than anything else. Hence, if you want to make sure that you get linked due to your content, focus on the message that you want to deliver. Work on subjects that will always pique the interest of your readers, so they will be encouraged to always add your link to their blog and websites.

3. Submit your articles to directories. Submitting your articles to various e-zines and article directories will make the process of non-reciprocal linking a lot faster. What’s more, it’s like you’re hitting two birds in one stone. You will not only obtain a one-way link from the website or the blog where you article and link is placed, but you can also earn an inbound link from the article directory itself.

The rules in article directories are a lot more specific than other directories, however. You have to take time in reading their author guidelines before you even submit your articles to them. One of these will concern about your text link. Usually, you are advised to add it in your resource box rather than in your body.

Non-reciprocal linking indeed is not an easy feat. But it doesn’t really mean that you wouldn’t be able to accomplish it. You have to ensure that you will always abide by the rules of the game—that is, you don’t resort to any unethical practices. They will only damage the reputation of your site and your business, and you will be suffering from the consequences of your actions.
