It's no surprise that golf has become a real sport! What I mean by that is golfers who want to play to their potential are practicing more and also embarking on golf conditioning programs.

We all know what Tiger Woods has brought to the game. A new level of athleticism that is dominating the tour. If you want to deny that, you might want to take up ping pong or gardening.

Golfers don't like the thought of exercising...most people don't. But...if you want to slow the aging process and enjoy your golf for years to come, you must take a serious look at this or your physical decline will be rapid in your later years.

The golf swing is physically demanding. It's downright brutal on the body. They say over 80 of all amateur golfers play with a golf injury at some point in their playing days. The reason why is a weak body that is as stiff as a board that can't take the sheer force of the golf swing.

It's no wonder that golfers are getting injured. Many swing way beyond their physical capabilities and create "overuse" injuries right and left.

Now I want you to picture the "flip side" of this scenario.

Invision a stronger body that is as limber as it was years ago, that can hit the ball with power and precision over and over again.

How's that image in your mind look? Pretty good doesn't it? Well... it's time to "smell the roses" then. It's time to start a golf-specific exercise program that is suited for your needs.

When you put together this program you must incorporate both strength and stretching exercises to get the full enhancement to your golf swing.

These exercises do not have to be done in a gym. You can do them with an exercise band, a pair of dumbbells and an exercise ball. That's it! There is no excuse here.

All it takes is a few minutes each day to see an amazing improvement in your driving distance, consistency and even your short game.

Do not go to a gym and plop down on a machine and think it will help your golf game. It won't! Golf is a very dynamic movement that requires specific positions in your body that no machine can replicate.

You may have heard stories of golfers saying their game got worse. This is exactly why! They did the WRONG exercises and screwed up their swing mechanics.

Seek out a golf fitness professional to put you on a program that is suited for your specific physical needs. Make sure the trainer does an initial evaluation to determine where your weaknesses are.

Do not start any program until you do this evaluation! You will only waste your time and add more frustration to your game.

With the right golf exercise program targeted to your physical limitations, you will quickly see the improvements on the course. Your swing will be looser and more fluid. You'll have a bigger backswing that generates higher clubhead speed without anymore effort.

This is the kind of game you aspire to play, so why not do what you need to do to achieve it?
