If galvanized shelving had not been developed then we might not be able to have as extensive storage facilities as we do today. Ordinary steel shelves would rust, so you would need to move items around the warehouse in order to perform maintenance on rusted areas. It is also very likely that the steel used to made the shelves would have to be much thicker, and therefore heavier to last as long as galvanized shelving. This is because cleaning the rust off of shelves is an abrasive process that will remove layers of steel each time it is done.

Therefore, for heavy-duty uses, and for long term storage solutions, galvanized shelving is the best type of shelving. It is the up-to-date, technologically advanced and proven answer for the age-old problem of storage.
