When it comes to online games, action games are often confused for or interchanged with strategy and shooter games because of the fact that these two, whatever you do with the players, you create or simulate or cause action. The big difference lies in the fact that with strategy games, it is associated with, as the name implies, strategy on defense moves. It all depends on how you defend your turf or camp against invading enemies, may they be in the form of aliens, robots, and other things that can cause harm, weaken and invade your territory while at the same time, your goal is to harm, if not kill, them and invade their territory. A very good, yet simple example for this is the Chess Game.

When it comes to the shooter game, this is mostly and best played when it is in three dimensional arrangements. With this type of play, you do not need to strategically put some defense paraphernalia but instead; you come equipped with guns and other kinds of arsenals. What do you do? You run around a certain area where you and your comrades are trying to kill your enemies. It’s this or you run around a certain place and basically kill each other. The end goal: last man standing wins the game. Hail! When it comes to action online games, though, you don’t necessarily kill somebody. It’s more on doing something that will lead you to a certain end goal.

However, if you really think about it carefully, the shooter and the strategy game can be classified under one big umbrella called action game. Among the very first action games is, of course, the Mario Brothers. As you can remember, you basically collect coins; try to grow big by eating those cute mushrooms, duck the fireballs and jump on those black guys before they send you back to level one. The end goal is to save the princess. Talk about the Prince and the Pauper kind of story line. Another popular action game is Diner Dash. In this game, you have to help the waitress Flo wait on the tables, be efficient in getting the orders, delivering the food ordered to the certain customer, give them their tab, collect the money, clean the tables and wash the dishes.

Simple, eh? The main goal of this online game is that you get enough money through the restaurant in order to help save the town. There are many more new action games available on the internet for you to download. There’s the Starship Ranger wherein you have to save the Mother Planet in good time since she is being invaded by extraterrestrials and you are the last hope of the Planet. Another is the Funny Chewer. This is for those who still haven’t gotten over Pacman and Bomber. This game is loaded with real good music, comes in three dimensional graphics and a lot of skill levels providing for a fun and adsorbing, if not addicting, game time.
