There are many sellers who generally wonder if they could take their house off the market during the year end holidays. While none of us been to a tarot card reader, there are lots of good reasons to leave your house in the market until it gets sold. Though, there will be only fewer buyers who will be looking for homes in the holiday months, when compared to spring and summer season. However buyers who are searching for a home during winter months are generally serious buyers and they aren’t the casual callers or searchers. And this is the time there will be less competitions from other sellers. By the end of every December, sellers who aren’t able to sell their houses, they simply give up and take their houses off the real estate market. Lesser competitions actually increase the odds of a sale for sellers whose houses are on the real estate market.

Another factor which could work in favor is the interest rates. Rate of interest are same during the months of September and October, and that was the contrary of what was expected. When rate of interests are low, there are generally no threats that the rates will immediately rise and buyers become complacent. They don't feel any kind of pressure to buy homes now. But, if rate of interests begin to go up again, then we might see spurt in house sales. If this occurs, houses which are listed for sales, particularly in a market that's down on inventory, might benefit. There are some sellers who believe that their probability of getting a good sale will be during the spring season. However there is no assurance that next year's real estate market will be better than the present year.

Real Estate forecasters are totally mixed with different options; some say that the market will be slower or even flat. Apart from this, a lot will depend on the economic conditions and the direction of the interest rates. Waiting for next spring very year to bring your house back on the market, you will definitely face lots of competitions. Another argument regarding keeping your home on the market during the holiday season is that it's totally inconvenient. You would have visitors during holidays, get together, celebrations and other work. Keeping your home ready and surviving the interruptions will generally add on to the already busy schedule.

Here is a home selling tip: To reduce the disturbance of having your house shown during holiday season, do have customized showing procedures. It is better than having a lockbox hanging to your front gate or door knob, request your real estate broker to take away the lockbox. After the broker has made a meeting to show your house, you may leave the lockbox at a suitable place. You may even leave it on the front porch; it will help you manage the showing process much better. There is no way you can know when will the right buyer will call or visit to purchase your home, so it is advisable to keep your house on the market until it gets sold.
