Everyone and anyone can swing a golf club, but in order to make the swing count, it is necessary to bring together a wide variety of skills, concentration and grace to swing that perfect swing which gets your golf ball aloft, fly the distance and reach the target area.

Just A Dash of Grace Will Do

Once you've started the swing, as the club descends toward the golf ball, it should be accomplished with little force and as much grace as possible.

Novice golfers will generally miss this combination of grace and agility, whipping the golf club with as much force as they can muster, chopping on the downswing more like a tank in motion than a skilled golfer. The result is weight shifting on the pathetic side, disorganized contact with the ball and a loss of balance, power and accuracy. Grace comes in balancing skill, speed and force, not in bringing your full pectoral muscle to bear on the poor golf ball.

Attaining The Correct Balance

Balance plays an essential roll in any sport but never so much as in golf. To act effectively, golfers must have the correct among of balance and control, especially during critical, high-stress times when its a crucial role during the swing. Accuracy and power in balance is necessary to be successful.

A player who is not centered shifts their weight often going from foot to foot out of control with poor pacing and as a result the clubhead hits the ball at an undesired angle destroying the shot.

When you next pick up your golf club, observe some of the other players who, after taking their shot, tend fall sideways slightly after their swing. Their problem is lack of balance control.

Ridding yourself of this habit and regaining a balanced swing without poor weight shifting is accomplished by rotation of your body around a single axis point. What this means is that your golf swing shouldn't be lateral, instead it should be more rotational. If you can keep this in mind, it will help boost your body control and steady your overall balance so that when you take your shot it will be a higher level of accuracy and power control.

What's Your First Move

A great golf swing is attainable even by novice golfers with a little practice and attaining control over a few variables of the game. This includes keeping the correct tempo, body control, grace and most importantly retaining your balance. If you are just starting the game, don't try and fix things all at once. Concentrate on one of the above points until you gain confidence and a higher level of mastery.

Patience is the key and coupled with focus on individual issues, you will observe measurable improvements over time.

It is physically and mentally impossible to fix every problem all at once when it comes to anything. This is no different in golf. If you attempt to tackle every issue at the same time, you will not improve on any of it and it will only lead to a higher level of frustration. Simply concentrate on one problem at a time, taking your time and practicing until you master it. Then move on to the next issue and continue until your swing is top-notch.
