RON PETRACEK

When it comes to relationships, there are many different reasons that two people will be attracted to each other. Some people will tell you that it was love at first sight and there are even instances where two people who ended up falling in love actually hated each other the first time that they met. This is why it is so hard to figure out why men love women who love horses.

You can ask any couple where the woman is a horse lover why they get along so well and every couple will give you a different answer. One small thing that couples have in common who are involved with horses (whether it be the just the woman or both) is that they enjoy the lifestyle that comes with owning horses.

Now each member of the relationship will have different reasons for enjoying the life style that surrounds horses. A woman for instance will enjoy the companionship that a horse brings to their lives. Horses are great to talk to because they will always listen and the best part is that they will never interrupt you by talking back.

A man will tell you that the reason that they enjoy having horses in the relationship is that it keeps their wives happy and everyone knows that when a wife is happy a husband will also be happy. Men will also tell you that while their wives are at the barn tending to the horses and riding, they have total access to the television and can watch anything that they want without their wives telling them to change the channel or turn down the volume.

Both men and women will tell you that owning horses is a great family activity for families with or without children. Families without children can travel around the country to attend sponsored trail rides with other horse enthusiasts. There are several breed associations that will sponsor trail rides in different state parks and canyons as a way for other horse lovers to met and spend time doing something that they love.

Families with children can also take part in these trail rides, but some of them are rather long and a small child may not be able to make it the entire distance; however, there are many other activities that families with children can get involved. Many counties have 4-H clubs that children can become members of and most of these clubs will have some type of horse program that will teach children the correct way to ride. Many times these different 4-H clubs will get together and put on horses shows where children can compete against one another.

Many parents find that this is a great way to keep their children out of trouble and teach them what it means to be responsible. Having horses is also a great way to bribe children into making good grades in school.

While determining why couples who own horses are so happy is not an exact science, there is one thing that these couples have in common. They are fun loving people who just want to raise good, happy children.
