MySpace is a social networking site which is very popular with young people and musicians.

It's one of the most popular social networks in the world. MySpace has grown much faster than any other site in the history of the Web, and in two years achieved nearly as much traffic as one of the top traffic websites on the internet - Yahoo.

Those excellent traffic statistics attracted many people to MySpace who use it for different purposes. While one of them are networking just to make some new friends or express themselves, the others try to make the most of MySpace using it as a money making tool promoting their products, services or businesses they are involved in.

Many advanced marketers use this social networking website to it's full potential pulling in profit from free advertising that MySpace provides them with. If you are one of them why not to use this free method of advertising as well?

To get started with promoting your business on MySpace you need to:

1. Design professional and attractive profile that will establish a good presence of your business. To do it you will need to put proper HTML code to your "about me" section which is responsible for your MySpace page look. However if you aren't familiar with HTML then you can use free MySpace profile generators that will enable you to create and customize your page step by step and finally generate the code for you to paste to your About Me section so that your SPACE is ready to go.

Remember to keep your page looking professional by personalizing it with a short story about yourself so that people know who you are, also place banners, logos and links to your business websites but do not overdo this as the more picture files and videos you put on your page the slower it will be opening and this is something that could discourage the visitors from waiting. You don't want to have a MySpace page loaded with visual effects that people will leave before it opens.

2. Make a friends. As a MySpace marketer you need to keep in mind that every single friend is your prospect and may become your customer in the near future. So choose your friends wisely. While searching for new friends to invite to your list, pay attention rather on those representing your niche, so that you get more chances that they will be more interested in your offer. To find targeted friends that you want to network with you can visit forums, topical groups and search your business related groups where you can find loads of MySpace users with similar interests to yours.

When you collect some friends you can pick the top ones who will be displayed on your MySpace page. Try to select those who you are mostly connected with and whose images are mostly suitable with your profile.

Also remember that you don't have to feel obligated to accept every single friend request coming in. If you feel that somehow the image and the profile of the friend requester doesn't match yours and might affect the overall image of your MySpace page then sometimes it's better to leave request with no response or deny it.

3. Use MySpace marketing tools such us:

- Blog posts

Most of marketers use Blogs to pitch their products. This is wrong approach as readers usually seek for valuable information on particular topic. If your blogs bring in value the readers will notice that and consider you authority on subject. However if you decide taking approach of pitching your business in your blogs people will detect it and might find it spam. The more you help, the more valuable information you provide for your readers the more in return you will get.

- Bulletins, Events Invitations, Forum Posts, Group Posts

These are better places to spread the word about your business and introduce the opportunities, services or products you want to promote along your niche market. However overdoing it and making posts too often may also place you on "blacklist" of spammers so be careful here.

Discovering MySpace and it's possibilities can get your business to the next level. It will help you develop new partnerships, find new ideas to run your business and build a list of potential prospects and customers.

Promote yourself then your business, achieve credibility by providing your friends with helpful information, interact with them and success will be just a matter of time.
