Your attitude is probably your greatest asset in your MLM business. It is the very thing that will save you from desperation, frustration, and the urge to quit when the going gets tough. Keep a good outlook no matter what your circumstances are, and you will have a new perspective on life.

Everybody has bad days, and terrible things can happen to good people. We all know it, yet we sometimes crumble when bad things happen to us. Life can be going along just fine, and then the rug is pulled out from under us. It may be the loss of a loved one, a devastating illness, financial loss, etc.

We can also have bad times in our network marketing businesses. We may experience attrition in our downline when people become frustrated and quit. We may become weary because our prospects are unable to make a decision or maybe they just say “no thanks”.

We may feel like none of our marketing methods are working and our efforts are all for nothing. Whatever the case may be, keep your head up and try to keep a smile on your face. Remember that nothing lasts forever, and that this too shall pass.

Life is full of ups and downs, and I used to be a real “gloomy Gus” in the down times. I would feel sorry for myself and wonder why this terrible thing had happened to me. As I grew older, I realized that problems were just a part of life; EVERYONE’S LIFE.

I realized that God wasn’t picking on me and that everyone had troubles of their own. Once I figured out that problems would always be a part of life, I began to deal with them differently.

Sure, I still worry and fret when things go wrong, but I know now that the bad times will not last. I try to remain positive during the hard times and know that my hardships are character-building events. I will be better for them once I get past them, and I will become stronger.

I want you to become stronger as a result of your hard times, too. When your business isn’t going the way you had hoped, keep that sunny disposition anyway. Know that everyone else experiences the same setbacks. The one thing that will make all the difference is your attitude.

It is not what happens to us in business or in life that matters, but how we deal with what happens to us. It reminds me of the story of the little old lady whose family decided it was time for her to move into a nursing home so that she could receive full-time care.
She had to leave her lovely home where she had lived for many years and move her personal belongings into a small room at the rest home. She walked into the facility with a smile on her face and remarked how nice her new room was.

When asked whether she was disappointed with the lack-luster room after having lived in her beautiful home for many years, she simply stated that she had made up her mind before she even saw her new home that she would love it.

She said that she could have been angry and upset over the move, but she decided from the very beginning to have a good attitude about the whole situation. It was out of her control anyway, so she decided to make the best of it.

We can be like that sweet little old woman. We can make up our minds to remain positive regardless of what happens to us in life or in business.

Attitude really is everything. It can make us or break us. I hope that you choose to stay upbeat when your business seems to be stalled. It will help you to just hang on during the tough times and never give up.
