The subdivision's location is in the middle of fields and forest preserves making it an ideal place for people who love to be away from it all yet close to local transportation venues. It is ideally situated perhaps a 50-minute drive from downtown Chicago, a 40 minute drive from Northwestern University in DeKalb and a short drive to large local cities including Aurora, Naperville, Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Oswego, Montgomery and Yorkville. It is also located very close to Route 47 and will have easy access to the proposed Illinois Prairie Parkway.

Although it might seem to be a part of the much larger Tanner Trails Subdivision, The Reserves at Tanner Trails is actually a completely different community with completely different homes and home styles. Many of the lots in this community average between a half and quarter-acre and several back up to the surrounding forest preserves.
