For many, winding rivers are symbolic of life. There's a sense that time slows down a little bit - that there's no reason to rush because you will get to where you want to be. For those at the River's Edge Golf Club and Plantation on the coast of North Carolina, the Shallotte River creates an air of leisure and contributes to the overall beauty of the area.

Living at the River's Edge Plantation allows you to enjoy more than just the beauty of the river itself. Natural landscapes show of the unspoiled beauty of the area and allow wildlife to remain in a natural habitat. Add that to mild weather year round, a 27 acre freshwater lake, access to the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway as well as Atlantic Beaches, and it's easy to see why many look to River's Edge Plantation when they are ready to embrace life on the coast.

Coastal living in that part of the country appeals to a diverse group of people. The River's Edge Golf Club and Plantation makes it easy for all of those people - those looking for the historic charm of the South in cities like Wilmington, North Carolina as well as those who are looking for the excitement and bustle of areas like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - to find what they are looking for. With its location between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, those who live at the River's Edge Plantation will find that it's easy to explore art and culture, to access airports when they want to get away and to be able to find entertainment and fine dining experiences whenever they look for them.

Of course, just because you're able to get out to Wilmington or to Myrtle Beach does not mean that you will have to; those who are looking for a rich life without needing to stray far from home will also find what they are looking for at the River's Edge Plantation. Townhomes that offer waterfront, golf and natural views are an ideal option for those who want to have a getaway as well as those who believe that they deserve an every day retreat.

Others will find that, while they are looking for an every day retreat, they are also craving a bit more privacy. For them, home sites that sustain the natural habitat and allow them to customize home plans to suit their needs create exactly what they are looking for: the chance to enjoy both nature and their community.

The community at River's Edge Plantation is centered on a number of great amenities. Palmer Lake is ideal for watching wildlife or canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Over five miles of walking and biking trails throughout the community make it easy for those who want to be able to get outside and get into shape. Likewise, those who want to be able to enjoy a game of tennis, to swim in an indoor or outdoor pool or to take advantage of a fitness center with everything that they are looking for will find that the River's Edge Plantation has a great deal to offer.
