As July hits, summer days get longer and hotter, and kids who've been out of school for over a month start to get bored and antsy. While a long vacation or a cruise with a kids club would be incredible, budgets have been stretched to allow for higher gas prices, with no break on the horizon.

The solution: day camp for the kids and an adult’s only weekend getaway to the Blue Ridge Mountains for the parents. An easy 90 minute drive from Atlanta will deliver harried parents to the serene mountain views the area is known for. Renting one of the Blue Ridge Mountain cabins is the perfect way to really experience being surrounded by nature without leaving luxury behind. Amid chirping crickets and gurgling brooks, secluded North Georgia cabins abound. Generally extremely well appointed with all the comforts of a fine hotel, Blue Ridge Mountain Top vacation rentals make it easy to leave the stress of the city behind.

A therapeutic hot tub soak among the trees will certainly help work out the kinks, and get the weekend off to an ideal start. Many of the North Georgia cabin rentals are in the midst of hiking trails and walking paths, so exploring the area around your cabin is easy. Once you've begun to acclimate to the slow and quiet pace, you'll be ready to appreciate wineries in Blue Ridge Mountain North Georgia.

The area is home to a surprising number of local vineyards, all of which offer tours and tasting designed to help you make the most of your kid-free North Georgia cabin rentals. Three Sisters Vineyard and Winery, known as "Dahlonega's first family farm winery," is set upon 184 acres of picturesque countryside. Complimentary tastings of their three brands, Three Sisters Vineyards, Chestatee and Walasiyi Wine Company, are offered Thursday through Sunday.

For a more in-depth tasting, Three Sisters Vineyard and Winery offers the the Vintners Tasting and the Georgia Wine Country Tasting, which feature a special, changing selection of wines and a take-home wine glass as a souvenir. The wines from the Three Sisters Vineyard and Winery are fairly diverse, including Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Touriga, Cynthiana-Norton and Vidal Blanc, and are all created solely from Georgia grown grapes. Don't forget to bring a bottle of your favorite back to your rustic Blue Ridge Mountain North Georgia cabin to enjoy under the stars!

Continue exploring and enjoying local wines on Sunday with Wolf Mountain Vineyards and Winery's popular Brunch and Concert series. This intimate 25 acre family winery offers an elaborate, seasonally-changing menu complimented by their own dry white wines, semi-sweet white wines, dry rose or red wines. Reservations are required for the Brunch and Concert series, as well as for the regular wine tastings.

After the weekend spent strolling through the natural beauty of Blue Ridge Mountain North Georgia and enjoying its well regarded wines, you'll surely be refreshed and rejuvenated. With only a short drive back to "real life," you'll have plenty of time to plan your next stay at the Blue Ridge Mountain Cabins.
