The Six Steps to Staying Young and Vibrant

Cosmetic procedures, whether surgical or non surgical, can not be the only solution to staying young and radiant. Although some people believe that any cosmetic procedure may encourage the youth to take their skin and body for granted because they think that they can always rely on doctors to have their skin stretched, their fat sucked, and their wrinkles smoothened. However, these procedures are not very reliable and can only be as good as the doctors that are performing the operation.

If you really want to look naturally young and healthy, you should follow the six steps below:

Step 1: Eat Good Food

If you look at serious illnesses that are prevalent these days, you will realize that most of them are partly caused by poor food choices. The sharp rise in the number of people in the country who have diabetes or are at risk of developing certain cancers and heart ailments can be linked to the rise in the number of people who are obese.

It is important to note that your body needs the right amount of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients everyday in order to perform at its peak. If you eat processed and other nutrient deficient food, you will not have ample amounts of the important nutrients that are vital for bodily functions.

So, the first step in staying and looking young is eating more foods that are healthy and full of nutrients and fiber, such as fruits and vegetables. In fact, the new recommendation from experts is to consume at least nine servings of these types of food everyday. You also need to choose your protein and carbohydrate sources. Lean meat, chicken, eggs and fish are best sources of protein, while whole grains and oatmeal are carbohydrate-rich foods that contain fiber.

Step 2: It Is Wise To Exercise

Young people have strong and healthy hearts because they are active and are always on the go. If you want to maintain your youth, you need to take particular attention to your cardiovascular health. Regular exercise and engaging in physical activities such as swimming, walking and other sports and outdoor activities are important. Furthermore, exercise and weight training can also lessen your risk of degenerative diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and even dementia.

Step 3: Care To Hydrate

Not many people know that water is important not only in flushing out wastes and toxins, but in moisturizing the skin as well. Try to observe people who do not drink a lot of water and other types of fluids such as juices, coffee, and other beverages; you will notice that they have dry and wrinkly skin. No matter how much lotion or cream you apply on your body, if you do not drink enough water, which your cells need, your skin will remain dry and flaky. So what are you waiting for? Drink up and enjoy soft and smooth skin.

Step 4: Be Kind To Your Mind

Being forgetful is one of the top signs of aging. If you want to stay young, you will need to keep your mind active and alert. Read a lot, do some puzzles, learn new things and never stop wondering and questioning the things around you.

Step 5: Shun The Sun

The rays of the sun can damage your skin, regardless of skin color. Overexposure to the sun, and even to very bright lights, can cause wrinkles and other skin blemishes. Wear sun block everyday, even if the weather is downcast. Also, try not to go outdoors between 10am to 3pm when the sun is at its hottest.

Step 6: Don't Be Mean To Your Skin

Drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods can only do so much. Your skin also needs outside help to retain its flawless condition. So, do not forget to put lotions and creams on your legs, feet and body. For your face and neck, use a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type. If you are over 30, an anti-aging cream is also helpful.

Lastly, you should also take care of the skin surrounding your eyes. This area is very delicate so you need to use an eye cream that is gentle and at the same time effective in banishing dark circles, eye bags and fine lines.
