In today’s article of helpful household hints, we will be talking about two ways to make your guests feel welcome. First, we will be discussing how to make a relaxing bath that your guests can either enjoy or take home with them after their stay. And then we will be giving advice on how to decorate a guest bathroom to make anyone feel right at home.

Handmade expressions are always a welcome gesture for guests in your home. Let’s start the pampering for your guests with how to make a relaxing bath with ingredients you may even have in your kitchen. You can start with plain rock salt that you may be using in a salt grinder for your foods. The bigger the salt grains the better because it looks beautiful and cleanses the skin more effectively.

To the salt you can add any of a multitude of herbs—lavender, lemongrass, chamomile—or dried flowers—roses, daisies, etc. Mix 1 cup of the rock salt (or you can choose Epsom salt) with the ingredients that you have chosen. The more ingredients you use, the more fragrant the bath mixture. You can even go to the local health food store to find organic herbs and flowers that can be used in the process of how to make a relaxing bath.

One of the helpful household hints in how to make a relaxing bath is to add a touch of your favorite perfume or essential oil. This can add even more depth to the fragrance that the dried flowers will release when added to a hot bath. Put the mixture in a pretty jar or bottle and you also have a great addition in how to decorate a guest bathroom as well.

Another one of the more helpful household hints in how to make a relaxing bath is to start with a muslin or another dye-free cloth bag. Into this, you can add all of the fragrant herbs again, but without the salt or the perfumes. This bag can then be put into a hot bath like a tea bag, or used as a sachet for your guest’s clothes. Again, you want to be sure that the bag is not colored with dye because that can leak out during a bath and stain the tub as well as your guest.

And there is still another way in how to make a relaxing bath for your guest. You will need unfragranced oil for this recipe and a little more time. Pour the oil into a beautiful jar or bottle. Next, you can add dried herbs to the mixture. Be sure to pick ones that look pretty as well as smell good. Put the cork or the top on the jar and let it sit in a cool area for a few weeks. The fragrance from the flowers will pervade into the oil, making for a relaxing bath oil.

When it comes to helpful household hints in how to decorate a guest bathroom, it’s the little things that will matter the most. Think about things that a guest might need—lotion (Rich Moisture Cream), a mirror (Clear Reflections Mirror), shampoo and conditioner, a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, or even a lint brush for their clothing (Reversible Lint Brush). Make a list of things that your guest might need while they stay with you. Who hasn’t forgotten something when they’re gone to visit a friend or a relative? By taking the time to think about your guest’s needs, you will make a great impression for future stays.

When you’re deciding how to decorate a guest bathroom, you want to consider making your guest feel special. A nice basket that contains all of the items that you gathered—along with instructions on how to make a relaxing bath--will give your guest a feeling of royalty and not imposition. You are quietly saying that you appreciate that they traveled to see you and that you hope that they will enjoy their time as your guest.

Make sure that you have plenty of towels, maybe even a bathrobe on hand and your guest bathroom is finished. You will also want to keep the guest bathroom clean throughout the stay. Try to wipe everything down at least once per day. Now that you have learned how to make a relaxing bath and how to decorate a guest bathroom, you should be ready for anyone to visit—even your in-laws!
