On June 27, Costa Cruises and Fincantieri ship builders set a new record by launching two ships on the very same day the first in the industry. These two ships, the Costa Pacifica and Costa Luminosa will enter service next year and will be able to have room for 3,780 and 2,828 guests respectively.

Very recently, Holland America Line claimed delivery of a new cruise ship from the Fincantieri Marchera shipyard which is located in Venice. On July 1, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was privileged to name the ship in Rotterdam, her homeport.

The Eurodam, which can accommodate up to 2,104 passengers, is the very first Signature class ship for the Holland America Line. The Eurodam has one more deck and over 60 more staterooms. This ship also features HAL's first spa staterooms and boasts of three new restaurants.
