Every computer comes with a sparkling clean registry. However, after years of usage, the registry becomes increasingly overcrowded with new, redundant and even corrupted files. The unfortunate thing about the registry is that, information that is already stored in the registry can never be removed or deleted. As such, imagine the heaps of digital trash that is being accumulated over the years when you fail to clean your registry. If this article is being too subtle, let us unequivocally state that giving your registry constant maintenance will help to increase your computer’s performance and speed. With this in mind, we shall examine some of the best registry cleaners for Windows XP.

If you take a quick visit to any computer store, you will be treated with a full array of Windows registry cleaners. Despite looking somewhat similar to each other, there are quite a number of differences with each of these registry cleaners. The crucial part about getting a registry cleaner is getting the one that suits your PC problems. As aforementioned, not all registry cleaners are identical function-wise.

#1 Reg Mechanic

The Reg Mechanic is one of the most well-known registry cleaners that is currently being used by a majority of PC users. The Reg Mechanic claims to be able to identify all corrupted files (registry keys) with a high accuracy rate. At the same time, it is also able to analyze which files are important and which are corrupted and redundant. Reg Mechanic has only 1 scan that is used to scan through the array of registry keys. Being designed with only 1 scan also means that the Reg Mechanic will not be able to tell you if the registry keys that are to be deleted will affect your computers’ overall operating system. However, the creators of Reg Mechanic believe that running 1 scan is more than enough to help it differentiate between the unnecessary files and the important ones. The advantage to using Reg Mechanic is that is has a user-friendly interface, making it an excellent registry cleaner for all first timer users.

#2 CCleaner

Who says that good things do not come for free? This is definitely not the case for CCleaner, the number 1 FREE registry cleaner that you can easily downloading from the internet.

Unlike Reg Mechanic, the CCleaner is designed to run 2 scans. The first scan is designed to look for corrupted and unwanted files. The 2nd scan is aims to ensure that the files that are detected from the 1st scan are safe to delete. It is very important to ensure that the to-be-deleted files can be safely removed. If not, then chances are it is going to have a nasty effect on your Windows Operating System. Hence, with the CCleaner, you won’t have to think twice before pressing the “delete” button.

Now that we’ve reached the end of our article, we’ve discovered some of the key functionalities and features that you may want to consider when getting a registry cleaner. Considering the substantial role the registry plays in your computer’s performance, you should heavily consider getting a registry cleaner if you haven’t already done so.
