Detoxification refers to the symptoms that appear when your body reacts to a change in diet or exercise. If you have spent your whole life eating soda and potato chips and suddenly realize that an apple might not be too bad, you're going to feel consequences of your actions.

Learning to overcome the headaches, stomach aches, rashes or fevers of detoxification is critical to your weight loss success. You simply cannot move forward in the positive direction of wellness without making major changes and overcoming these obstacles. How many years did you spend eating those chips on the couch? You can't expect to change in a day, and you can't expect it to be easy.

Just like everything else in life, however, perseverance will come back to you ten fold. There are many benefits to sticking it out and waiting for the detoxification process to pass. You'll lose weight faster, condition yourself to lead a healthier lifestyle and improve your self esteem all at the same time.

The reason detoxification speeds up the weight loss process is because your body is ridding itself of elements that have slowed down your metabolism and become a detriment to good health. The instant gratification of eating a plate full of pasta covered in alfredo sauce won't do much harm once, but imagine what happens over time. Artery clogging foods take a toll on a human body for obvious reasons.

When you begin to put proper nutrition into your body, you will slowly start to get rid of all the bad toxins that were put there from eating poorly. These elements won't leave without a fight, but if you wait it out and stick to your weight loss goals, you'll realize that leading a healthy lifestyle has nothing to do with the symptoms that appear when you begin eating better and exercising.

Your body will naturally always go for the better quality element. In doing so, it will make room for it by pushing out what is considered less quality. When you get to the point where all of the toxins have been released from detoxification, you'll be able to lead a healthy lifestyle that much easier.

If your body detoxifies when you go from bad to good, what do you think will happen when you go from eating good back to bad? The same thing. Hopefully you will not want to wait that process through. It will be much more appealing this time to stick with the apple!
