Training to be an electrician does not just have to be done in a school or college and you do not even have to have an apprenticeship straight away. If you do not have much time to train due to caring responsibilities or illness, don't give up on the chance to train to be an electrician. There is a program designed that enables you to train as a fully qualified electrician. Even if you just want to be able to do your own electrical work at home this program will help you to sharpen up the skills you already have. And you can participate in the course directly from your home. This means you can carry out the necessary training in your own time and at your own pace, scheduling it round any other responsibilities and jobs that you may have. Many colleges, universities, vocational and trade schools, electrical companies and apprenticeship program administrators use the program all over the world as well as you at home so you can ensure that you are getting good quality training.

The program can be followed using a number of methods. Books are provided and the internet can also be used. There are also animated electrical training videos provided that are narrated by the electrician author and they teach quickly and easily. They are easy to learn from due to their footage of live electrical installations, descriptions of volt-amps and other skills and techniques that you will need to know in order to become an electrician. There is one video for every section of the program and each one runs from 75 - 120 minutes. Due to this visual aid to the learning process the program will suit people who are visual and practical learners.

The first stage of the training program is to learn the theoretical language of electricals and electrical equipment and to understand the theory of electrons. Then the program will progress onto the rules of Ohms Law, magnetism, electrical tools, and safety among other things such as, wiring methods, electrical services, and electrical motors. Students will also gain knowledge on how to carry out electrical inspections themselves and how to maintain and repair electrical equipment and their parts.

The at-home training course will help to advance the careers of those electricians who are not fully trained as well as people who have no electrical qualifications at all. It may also help to keep fully trained electricians up to date with the new advances in electrics as changes are always occurring. Some contractors may like their employees to do the course in order to further their knowledge and improve their quality of work. These electricians will then be familiar with the Code requirements and will understand how to prepare for electrical inspections and how to communicate with the inspector of electrical products.

The program is made up of ten parts and each of these has a concluding exam. The exam consists of 3 parts and assesses how well students have comprehended and retained the information given by the course. This can also be taken at home and then emailed to the school's training facility where it is graded. Each module must be completed before you can progress onto the next module. This ensures that you fully understand the material before taking in any new information. The program can be paid for either up front in one down payment or each of the ten modules can be paid for as you progress through the program. Each module will cost 95, but if you pay for the whole program at once then the price will be 895.
