Yes, yes, yes, and yes, you do need to reduce debt. Unless of course you want to live a life that causes you to stay awake deep into the night worrying how you’re going to pay the credit card bill at the end of the month. Or live a life where part of your income regularly goes to your doctor for health problems caused by stress. Or live a life where you’re in constant conflict with your spouse and family members due to financial pressures. Or live a life where you never have any money left after the monthly debts are paid and you’re always just scraping by. Or live a life where you’re working 3 jobs trying to keep up with the debts you already have.

I won’t mention that there’s a good chance you’re probably going out to the mall in between these jobs as you absolutely deserve a few treats for working so hard. And what happens, out comes the card and in a thrice you’re even further in debt. All that work to reduce your debts and in a few moments it’s all blown. Have I made my point, do you need to reduce debt – YES YOU DO.

But let’s reflect for a moment. Didn’t it feel good when you were out shopping and you didn’t have a care in the world. You were having a great time, looking in the stores and choosing the perfect ‘thing’, whatever it was. An outfit for that party, gizmo for the kitchen, something special for your family or a treat for dinner. No matter what you buy, all it adds up to is extra debt, and even longer for you to reduce that debt. So do you need to reduce debt? Yes. Do you need to add to your debt? No.

The crazy thing is while I was in the mall (yes I know all about this, I’ve done all of this myself) with the other shoppers, the thought of my credit card bill was a misty concept at best. It didn’t seem to matter, debt reduction was the furthest thing from my mind, I was totally in the moment and just having a good time, it’s only later when the big nasty bill is looming on the horizon that reality kicked in and I regretted using the card. And it’s the little things that can undo you, $20 here, $25 there, do it a several times a week and at the end of the month it’s several hundred more on the card.

Reducing debt is an absolute must for health, sleep, happy families and peace of mind. But let’s stop talking about debt and reducing debt and killing debt (nice thought) for a moment and look at something that makes me and I’m sure you, feel a lot calmer.

Imagine for a moment, and yes I have talked about this in other articles, but if I have to keep banging on about it over and over again so that you’ll do something, that’s OK with me. Now back to you, take a few moments so that you can really feel what it would be like to be totally free of debt. Imagine that you never had any of these things to pay, not ever again, not one, not a mortgage, not a car payment, nothing, you had no debts at all!! Go on have a look at the list and then shut your eyes and imagine it now.

• Credit Card
• Store Card
• Car Payment
• Personal Loan
• Mortgage
• Revolving Credit
• Recreational Vehicle or Boat Payment
• Any other Debt

Didn’t that feel great? How relaxing and stress free to know you are totally debt free and don’t even need to worry about how to reduce debt, cause you don’t have any. I was so accustomed to having debts like this that it never occurred to me that there was another way of doing it. Many of my friends would talk about their credit cards and car payments so they seemed to be in the same boat, that made it all felt quite normal, quite horrible too, but quite normal. But it doesn’t have to be like that.

Back to the original question. ‘How To Reduce Debt’ – Do You Need To?’ The answer is quite simply yes you do. You need to reduce debt for your mental health, your physical health, your quality of life and your family realtionships. Yes you do need to reduce debt, and a debt free lifestyle is the ultimate goal of a debt reduction plan. All you need to do now is to make up your mind that this is something you want and something that you are committed to creating. Good Luck.
