If you are uncomfortable with a person you have met on any of the free dating web sites for any reason, the first thing to do is to trust your intuition. Withdraw from the communication. Your dating site should allow you to delete people from your contact list and to block people from access to your information. So long as you are dealing with a normal person, they will soon take the hint if you want no further contact with them. The reverse is also true. Don't continue to force yourself on someone who has decided they don't want to further the relationship with you.

Preventative Measures

Review your Expectations

If the person you make contact with on one of the free dating web sites turns out to be someone who is not what you expected, you shouldn't give up finding someone you are interested in. You will, however want to review your expectations so that you don't end up in a pattern of expecting someone different than you think you are describing. Look at who you described when you wrote your expectations and compare that with the person you made contact with. Try to determine how or what you could have changed in order to find a person more like you desired.

Update your Profile

You may want to update your free dating web sites profile if you are not making contact with the type of person that interests you. This doesn't mean that you should pretend to be something you aren't, just that you should try to do a better job of describing yourself and defining what you want. If your profile adequately expresses your personality, then leave it and just assume that you happened to run into someone who didn't resonate with your personality. This happens in the real world, just as it does online.
