A replicated site is a company site that looks exactly like everyone elses. We call that a cookie cutter site. As a business owner, you don’t want to look like everyone else, you want to stand out from the crowd.

Here’s what most home business owners do:

1) Don’t list a phone number other than corporate on their website

2) Don’t put their picture on their web because they don’t want to be seen

3) Don’t do any videos because they are afraid of what people will think

4) Don’t tell about who they are because it’s nobody’s business

Well, these strategies don’t make it very easy to build trust in your customer base. Nor, for the most part, do people want to spend time on your replicated website if they’ve seen a thousand others just like it. People want to do business those they know, like and trust. People are not going to be lined up to join with you in business if you don’t allow them to know about you.

The way to establish trust and allow people to know, like and trust you, is to be very active and visible in your business. This is called personal branding, aka attraction marketing aka my story marketing. You want to brand you face, your name and your business.

For example, when people are talking about travel club memberships and Global Resorts Network, I want them to think of me, Debbie Turner, and visualize my face, recognize my voice and remember seeing my videos.

The way to accomplish this is to be the best you that you can be and put your mug online. Here are things you can do within your marketing campaign:

1) Put your phone number everywhere. Be available and answer your phone.

2) Put up your picture and those of your family

3) Post videos allowing people to hear you talk, sharing your opinion, business ideas and concepts and the fun things you’re doing as you enjoy life.

4) Be sure and share your story. This allows people to connect and relate you to. We all have a story. This makes you real. Share how it is that you’re arrived at where you’re at today.

It’s important to remember as you put your personal branding out there, to be yourself. Don’t put on a show to be someone you’re not. Don’t say things you don’t mean and don’t represent to be something you’re not.

Many people feel very uncomfortable putting themselves online and never will. For those that can get out of their box and step into the virtual reality arena, they’ll see an increase in business activity and pick up some great friends just like them along the way. Home business owners can create million dollar online business through personal branding. It’s fun, non-threatening, and very powerful.

You’re starting a business from your home, you’ve been given a replicated website from the company you’re affiliated with and have been told to advertise and get traffic to your site. Hummm. Bad idea.
