Reduce Idle Time

Car idle periods eat a lot of gas even though the car is not rolling. Avoid too much idle time; learn to discern when to turn off the car and when to wait. If waiting would be more than five minutes, then turning off the engine would be a more sensible thing to do.

Use overdrive gears

Make use of the functional tools that your car has. One of these is the overdrive gears which reduces the speed of the engine. If your car does not have this tool, then just simply match your speed to the gear you are driving on. Don’t step on the gas too much. Tires that are not inflated to the proper level make the car harder to roll and consequently require the engine to work harder and eat a lot of gas. Always check your car tires’ pressure level to help your car run smoothly.

Saving gas does not only rely on getting the best price deals but on how you drive, take care of your car and your car’s engine as well. A well maintained car and engine will result to a higher engine performance and savings on gas money.
