Construction has been a wonderful progress and creations of man. Towering buildings, bridges, roads, and many others are works of the construction industry. However, many of us are interested to know the process of construction. How long it takes to finish a building or a house. Otherwise, how construction workers and contractors come up with the construction with a scratch at hand? How buildings are erected that stayed for decades, centuries and millennium. All of these questions really baffle us and the answers are quite as unreachable as the horizon.

Home construction in Virginia is quite proliferating. With hundreds of job opportunities it offer to people in the service sector and information technology, people in the surrounding state and other nation venture to Virginia to find job and to settle a home. Home improvements in Virginia , home repairs, and home remodeling VA are also needed for old houses and staged houses. Here are some steps you should know when planning for a home construction in Virginia.

Construction has never been that easy. A lot of people are manpowered to construct a home and buildings. The first thing that everyone is obliged to do is knowing the land use planning policies of the state. Plans, Zoning ordinances, subdivision ordinances, erosion and sediment control ordinances are all handled in Virginia’s local city, county or town. An extra legal fee is also needed and what makes it more expensive, where homeowners and businesses finance the desire of local government.

Next step is the hiring of contractors or sub constructors. Make sure you have hired a licensed and professional contractors for your house or any project, so you wont end up in embezzling such large amount of money. Sub contractors come from independent businesses, for example, there’s a sub contractor assigned to roofing, siding, VA home improvement., and among others. Meanwhile, the contractor oversees the whole project and legible for the house completion on the agreed time and budget.

Site preparation is a crucial stage in construction. It is best to hire geodetic engineers for the land survey or for land analysis. They will study the land if it’s safe area to construct a house. Having analyzed the land quality, they will get to know the kind of materials and methods suitable for construction. A crew will clear the site if it is surrounded by trees, rocks and debris, and level the ground.

After clearing the site, construction workers dig holes and trenches. Cement or concrete will be then poured to each holes and trenches, which serve as the foundation for the house. Slabs, basements and crawls are the three main foundation systems used in building houses. The sewer pipe and electrical parts must be embedded before the concrete is poured.

Next is the building of floor that’s starts in pressure treated lumbers that serve as the foundation for flooring. After the floor, the wall will be then attached. Through lumber sheath it will serve e as support for the concrete wall. The walls are nailed one with the other to create a frame.

You’ve got the floor and wall, but the house wouldn’t be complete without a roof. Roofing uses trusses for framing. Trusses are triangulated structure that support the roof.

You have the basic house structure, and now is the window and door installation. Make sure that the size and shapes of windows are properly formed in the concrete. Plumbing shouldn’t be forgotten too, it involves water lines, sewer lines and bath tubs. Hire plumbers that are experts to ensure a safe and reliable plumbing systems.

Electrical system must be properly applied to the household. Do find an electrician who has an extensive knowledge in electricity. Insulation is also important for good ventilation or for heating and cooling purposes.

Those are some of the basic construction process, finishing is the last integral part to the house. These are kitchen and countertops installation, installation, finish electrical and plumbing, paint, carpeting, tile or vinyl flooring and final punch list.
