Baby showers are one of the best reasons to celebrate. Who doesn’t love the idea of welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world? Of course, attending baby showers means buying baby gifts. While one of our highest recommendations goes to the high chair cover, there are some other awesome gift ideas you might also want to consider for the new baby.

Practical Gifts for Parents

A high chair cover is definitely going to fall into this category. Even though they will help make the baby more comfortable while sitting in that hard chair, the baby is unlike to even show you so much as a thank you in return. However, the parents are going to especially love the high chair cover for several reasons.

For starters, a high chair cover is going to allow them to safely take their baby to restaurants. The high chair cover limits their babies’ exposure to the surface of the chairs and that minimizes their risk of coming into contact with germs from other people and from food.

Parents will also love a high chair cover because they can be so colorful and fun, especially the reversible ones, such as those sold at Pure & Honest Kids. Having a reversible high chair cover is a good idea in case you want a different style but don’t want to buy a more.

Non-High chair cover as Gifts

Besides a high chair cover, there are other practical gifts available. For example, buying some diapers is always nice or giving parents a gift certificate to a local baby store where they can buy some items themselves is nice.

Bathing supplies are always much appreciated. Wash clothes, baby shampoo, and similar items are going to be used a great deal. You could also buy one of the adorable robes that fit on the baby while he or she is drying.

Other Types of Baby Shower Gifts

Age appropriate toys are also a good idea. However, make sure you do check those ages. You don’t want to be responsible for injuring someone else’s baby with a gift you purchased so always be cautious about those labels.

Books are really a wonderful choice, too. You can either purchase baby-friendly books that are easy for them to hold or you can buy books that parents can read to them from. Evidence clearly indicates that babies who are read to and children who are encouraged to read at a young age do much better in school than other children. That’s the type of head start you want to give the new baby.

Final Thoughts

A high chair cover is a wonderful gift but you can find a few other items available, too. It might also be a good idea to check the gift registry to find out what, specifically, the parents-to-be say they need for their new bundle. Remember this can also let you know whether someone has already purchased a high chair cover for the baby.
