It's Okay to Want Abundance By Lynn Lawson At Isnare.com Ezine Articles

A lot of us women definitely have a problem. We are very afraid of the idea of wealth-building. Even in my talks with many women business owners, I find many of us love our business, but don’t desire the wealth that could possibly come along with it.

Our excuses are many! We just want to make enough income to replace our jobs. Or, we want to be able to have just enough to pay ourselves decently, while providing a living for our employees. I’ve heard them all and many of us will just come out and say, “I don’t want to be rich, I just want to be comfortable and not have to worry so much about money”.

When has it become a bad thing to be rich? And, ask yourself this, are you perpetuating self-talk that has been erroneously handed down to you by your elders? You know what I mean…talk like “money is the root of all evil”, or “rich people take advantage of the poor”.

True, there are some wealthy people who may not have the best morals, but can’t that also be said about people who are poor or middle-class, as well. Money is just a magnifier of who you are. Face it, if you’re a not-so-nice person when you don’t have any money, won’t that fact just be magnified when you do have money. And, if you’re a wonderful, compassionate, giving person when you don’t have money, won’t that be magnified as well, when you do have wealth.

If you’re thinking that you don’t need a whole lot, or if you tend to feel guilty when you do have abundance (of anything), then perhaps you need to check your own self-value. Do you feel unworthy of having a happy, abundant life? Dig deep to find the answer by asking these questions:

• Do I have thoughts about myself (whether imposed by others or self-imposed) that I need to release in order to have a happier life?

• What was I taught about money growing up and who shared this philosophy with me? Were they wealthy, working-class, or poor? Think about the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

Maybe you’ve always felt it’s the man’s responsibility to bring the money home. He brings home the bacon…you fry it up in the pan. The hard truth of the matter with this thinking is the divorce rate still hovers around 50% and men usually die before their wives. But on a happier note, women (whether they’re married or not) play a large part in making the majority of purchasing decisions within their household. These decisions include homes, cars, and investments.

No matter your situation, creating wealth can not only decrease your money worries, but it can also help you to make a difference in the world. It’s not who has the most…wins. I don’t believe this life is a win or lose type of gig. But, wouldn’t it warm your spirit to know you had the resources to do good deeds for others. And, sure, any deed coming from the best of intentions can be a good deed, but what if you had the resources to match your intentions? You would feel unstoppable!!

So, rather than thinking of money in an unhealthy way, based on what others may have told you, think of wealth only as a tool. After all, if you have the right tools, it makes your job so much easier and it makes you so much more effective!
