The class of economy cars or compact cars essentially refers to cars that are small, light and are relatively inexpensive to buy. These cars because of their smaller interiors are mostly preferred by people buying cars for the first time, single owners or couples. However, even these economy cars are specially designed and are not just smaller versions of the bigger luxury cars. We mention here some eagerly awaited cars for 2009.

Honda Civic and Honda Fit

The Honda Civic is popular among consumers and critics alike. In fact, the Consumer Guide's editors had named the 2008 Honda Civic as one of the best buys among economy cars. Obviously with such success, the 2009 Honda Civic is not going to have too many changes made to it. Whatever the changes, the aim will be to refine the existing features rather than reinvent anything.
