For many, being wealthy is a nice dream. A nice pipe dream, that is. Most people love the idea of it, but ultimately don't think it's possible.

I know from firsthand experience, however, that anyone can become a millionaire. Yes, I mean anyone - no matter their current profession or level of debt - can become not only wealthy, but a millionaire. I know because I'm a wealth coach who specializes in doing just that: making people millionaires.

One of the main reasons there are so few millionaires is because very few of us were ever taught how to manage money. And even fewer of us were taught the specific skills and mindsets necessary for becoming a millionaire. (I go into all of this in more detail in my book, The Millionaire Maker).

The good news is that all of that can be learned, and at any age. Some of the main elements necessary for creating wealth include:

· Vision
· A wealth plan
· Awareness
· Guidance
· Commitment and patience

Vision
To create wealth, you need to be able to visualize having it. Every circumstance you have in your life is the result of your thoughts, from which you base your behavior. When you believe you can succeed, you end up making different choices.

Right now you probably have a lot of beliefs around why you can't be wealthy. A large part of my work involves reconditioning my clients' minds so they can clearly see the abundance and wealth possibilities that constantly surround them.

A wealth plan
Millionaires don't just go to work, cross their fingers, and hope their efforts pay off in seven figures. No, they play an active role in creating their wealth. They write out their financial goals and create a step-by-step wealth plan that will allow them to achieve those goals.

Awareness
Millionaires know how much money is coming in, how much money is going out, and where it's going to. Many people even don't know how much they make each month, let alone where it disappears to.

To create a plan for wealth, one of the first steps is knowing your exact financial situation today. If you don't know your starting point, you can't effectively devise a plan that will get you to where you want to be.

Guidance
Every millionaire has a wealth team, a group of handpicked professionals - such as lawyers, accountants, mentors, etc. - that work with them at building wealth.

When you're ready to create wealth, it's important that you have the proper guidance of those who are familiar with the process. Finding a good wealth coach and mentor will both accelerate your wealth-building and prevent you from making mistakes that could otherwise be very costly.

Commitment and patience
Becoming a millionaire is a tremendous commitment. It requires time, certain lifestyle changes, mentality shifts, and an open mind. And it won't happen overnight.

Building wealth is a long-term process that needs constant feeding. To do it, you need to be being persistent and have realistic expectations of how quickly it will come. And when it does come, you'll be more than glad you stuck it out.
