In Part1, we discussed Web 2.0 concept and its various levels. In Part2, we will touch on its application.

When people add to a website with 2.0 technologies they are adding content. The content is essential for search engines and rank. Your site will begin to improve and be pulled up in more searches than ever before. As people add their own unique data you will have more and more visitors to your site. Building traffic is essential if you are an Internet marketer. Traffic is the ultimate goal with marketing for any online business.

Internet marketers need to understand that Web 2.0 can be used to your advantage. Users want interactive sites that provide collaboration. When you allow people to make your site their own they are actually marketing for you. You can have thousands of users doing your marketing because they will want others to join them on the site and join in on the fun.

If you are trying to sell a product like an e-book of ‘How to create an instant best sellers online’ then Web 2.0 will work to your advantage. You have a site that allows users to participate in discussions like blogs and forums. Throughout the conversations of the blogs you can add articles and links to your product. This will generate in interest in the users and people will go visit your website to see what the e-book is all about. The more traffic you have coming to your online business then the more sales you will have on your site.

Bookmarking is an effective social marketing tool when you want to make an online profit. There are many social bookmarking sites that allow you to bookmark certain websites as your favorite. When you bookmark sites that you like then the site will index the page and refer the website to other users as well. There are many sites you might consider for your social marketing and social bookmarking needs. These methods of advertising for your business are free and don’t cost anything. A good example of a social bookmarking site is Stumbleupon. This site is a browser plugin that is also an Internet community. It allows users to rank websites they enjoy visiting. When users visit stumbleupon the site itself recommends to people other sites that might be of interest to people. When you bookmark the site it puts it in a list where it will be recommended to others.

MySpace and FaceBook are two social networking sites that allow people to go online and network with their friends, family, and other people across the world. People join groups of interest and meet people from all over the world. Users are allowed to design their own home page and people across the web can view their profiles. These social sites are excellent ways to market your products for an online profit. When you post a bulletin then all of your friends receive it. If your friends like the product and they post information about it then it can reach hundreds or thousands of users.

Web 2.0 is the concept of what the Internet has evolved into. People are not just reading anymore but they want control of the site and be able to participate in your website. If you are an Internet marketer then you need to grasp Web 2.0 and use it to your full advantage. Let the users do your marketing for you. Empower the users and they will provide total marketing solutions because you gave them the ability to collaborate and participate.
