Humans are complex individuals. We all have specific likes and dislikes, but some people take it to an entirely new level. These are the people who, for one reason or another, have various personality traits that are unbalanced. Some of these people are aware of their problems, and thus resist medical intervention.

Then, there are some people who actually are obsessed with perfecting their look through medical means, and they are generally known as plastic surgery addicts. Generally, plastic surgery addicts are people who are affluent members of their community, and have the financial means to be able to afford the plastic surgery in the first place. However, this doesn't mean that there aren't people who go into significant debt in their quest to look perfect.

Some people might think that plastic surgery addicts are mostly women. This assumption is untrue, and this addiction is suffered by both men and women equally. The women who have an obsession with this kind of surgery usually focus on getting things like breast implants, liposuction, and facelifts.

When it comes to providing an example of a woman who has an obsession with changing her look through surgical means, the first woman that comes to mind is the "Catwoman". In fact, she's became known more by that name than her real name, which is Jocelyn Wildenstein. Jocelyn is a wealthy socialite who, one day, decided that she wanted to look like a cat. So, she had her eyes tilted, and had numerous chin implants. The result is quite a scary looking face. Plus, she's still having surgery to perfect her feline look.

So, what made Jocelyn decide to completely change the way she looks? Well, it could be one of a few reasons. First of all, she must not have truly been happy with herself in the first place, otherwise she wouldn't look the way she does now. Additionally, ever notice how people with lots of money generally have the worst behavior? It has a lot to do with their lack of motivation. They can have whatever they want, so their frustration manifests itself in manic behavior.

Perhaps the saddest example of a person who has an addiction to cosmetic surgery is Michael Jackson. When he was a child, his father used to beat him with a belt and make fun of his big nose. Michael is a sensitive person, so it's obvious that the constant parental abuse that he suffered completely shattered his self-esteem. So, he decided to completely change himself. Only, he even went so far as to change his skin color.

It's interesting to note that his nose was the first thing to change on him. Then it kept getting progressively smaller, until now it's held together only with prosthetic tape. What is something that Jocelyn and Michael should do? First of all, they should seek help from a professional psychiatrist. They need to work through their body images issues. They should only have additional surgery if it restores them to how they originally looked.
