Do You Want to Know How to Lose 10 Pounds in 7 Days?

You may be skeptical, but it is possible to lose ten pounds in 7 days. In order to do this, you must stick with the steps outlined here strictly. Overall, these steps are relatively effortless to follow; you just need a little planning and one week of your time.

Drink one-half to one full gallon of water every day:

This is the most important step. You see, when you start to lose water through breathing, perspiring, and waste elimination, you start to get dehydrated. The old saying goes, if you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. Many times, people will misidentify this onset of dehydration as hunger and will eat.

Drinking water is not to keep you full by taking up space, it hydrates your body on a cellular level and controls hunger.

You could believably stop here and lose five pounds this week by just doing step one, but you want to lose more.

Count your calories:

For this week, you will eat between 1,000 and 1,200 calories broken into 4 to 6 meals, the largest of which should be breakfast. By consuming small meals throughout the day, you rev up your metabolic process and get your body burning more calories than you take. This taps into your fat stores.

Do not cut out all fat. Fats are essential to burn fat, just calculate any fat as part of your total calories.

Avoid refined sugar and flour. Use a sweetner, such as Setvia, if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, and eat whole grain breads and pastas instead of white bread or regular pasta.

Exercise a little every day:

Exercise may or may not be new to you, or you may have some experience under your belt. Either way, what you should do is set out with a very small amount of exercise on day one, then increase it each day for the seven days in this plan.

For example, walk 10 minutes on day one and then add 5 minutes each day. By day seven you will be walking 40 minutes. The exercise will add a supercharge to your metabolism.

Extra Sleep:

The last think you need to do is get as much sleep as you can. I advocate 8 to 10 hours every night if you can do it. When your body lacks sleep, it develops the stress hormone cortisol. This hormone causes the body to store fat as if the stress was caused by starving. Sleep keeps cortisol to a minimum, which will in turn help release fat stores.

By following these tips you can easily lose 10 pounds during the first week. As you restrict calories, your body starts to adjust to the low food intake and starts to go into starvation mode. After the first week, take a day and have one or two 'cheat meals'. Don't pull a chair up to the buffet and stuff yourself. Rather, eat a meal that you are craving, like pizza or something from McDonald's. You can even go to your favorite restaurant and have a cocktail with dinner. This will refresh your spirit and recharge your motivation to keep going. For the second week you will need to use the week two tips to keep the weight coming off.
