Memory power

There are almost various types of memory functions in a person for memory power. One of the memories is the short term memory which is such type of memory that is used to keep in mind the information that is presently in use like the telephone number and addresses. On the other hand, spatial memory is a feature of short term memory which has the ability to memorize a person’s position in space. Further, instant recall of the visually seen patterns is spatial memory.

Long term memory, involves the permanent sensory storage and such information. One of the good illustrations of long term memory is childhood experiences. Poor memory occurs due to lots of ailments and this includes diseases like ageing process, Alzheimer’s disease, amnesia, Dementia and stress.

Therapies

There have been a lot of therapies which can improve the Memory power of the person. These kind of clinical trails have demonstrated the Acetyl-L-Carnitine ability for improving of the memory in healthy and normal people. This study of Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been also done on Alzheimer disease patients for utmost Memory power. The Acetyl-L-Carnitine drug improves the short term and long term memory and also spatial memory of the person. There are also provisions of dosage that can be taken which are shown in the studies. For young people, Acetyl-L-Carnitine dosage is around 500 to 1500 mg per day, whereas for healthy elderly people, the dosage intake capacity is 1500 to 2500 mg per day. However, people who are in their elderly age and have cognitive impairment can take 2500 to 3000 mg of Acetyl-L-Carnitine per day.

Neuro chemical and clinical effects of Acetyl-L-Carnitine for the Alzheimer’s disease

Acetyl-L-Carnitine was administered on certain probable Alzheimer patients for Memory power. These patients were afterwards compared by the neuro chemical and clinical measures to the patients who were aged between 20 to 30 years of age. Acetyl-L-Carnitine treated patients however showed fewer declines in the mini mental status. There were also studies done on patients with Parkinson’s disease with the Acetyl-L-Carnitine usage. A specified amount of groups of patients were prescribed with doses of Acetyl-L-Carnitine per day for consecutive seven days in a row. The effects of Acetyl-L-Carnitine on the intermittent luminous stimulation along with the nocturnal sleep patterns were also studied. In both of the studies, the effect was total improvement of the H response, spindling activity and sleep stages. Also, there are studies of the Acetyl-L-Carnitine usage on patients and which are also necessary for the memory retention of the person.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine positive side

Alzheimer patients do not have enough amount of Acetyl-L-Carnitine in their bodies for Memory power. This drug prevents the build up of amyloid plaque which can damage the brain tissues and this is highly caused by Alzheimer’s disease. Studies show that Acetyl-L-Carnitine can help a person to control amyloid plaque by inhibiting free radical action and also by preserving the energy production in the brain. By giving the patients Acetyl-L-Carnitine supplements can slow down the Alzheimer progress.
