Carrying around a portable DVD player with a good set of headphones, will enable you enjoy uninterruptedly a good movie. But there are certain recommended features you must look for before you buy the best available portable DVD player.

A portable DVD player can be heavy and clumsy to carry if they have large rechargeable batteries attached to them. Take special care to see that the weight is comfortable before you buy. Please also note that many portable players today can also double as CD players eliminating the need to take one extra device on your trip. You may also check if your player can support CD-R, CD-RW or DVD-R as well, as these do-it-yourself disc formats are becoming increasingly popular at least amongst those who have burners at home.

You must choose a player which has high quality outputs, such as S-Video for video and Optical Out for audio, so you can obtain the best possible playback results. Again, if you are in the habit of sharing your audio with a friend, then you will also have to look for double headphone jacks provision in the player.

Today, players are available with built-in screens, which make the DVD entertainment thoroughly pleasurable wherever you are. Of course the screen sizes do vary somewhat and therefore it is best you pick the one with a big serene - the larger the screen the better the viewing. You may be required to pay more when you opt for bigger screens but the additional expense is worth it. However, those having budgetary constraints may consider a player without a screen, but you will in any case need some screen you can hook up to watch your movie. If you do not have the facility to hook your DVD player Battery to a home entertainment system, then you may well consider a model which has virtual surround sound. This is an excellent feature that enhances the sound quality to provide a near real feeling.

Portable DVD players are meant to allow you to watch your favorite DVDs from anywhere and they can run on batteries, home electricity or plugged into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter. But a DVD player Battery ceases to be portable if you can not wean it away from the AC power supply. You must take care to know the duration of the DVD player battery life as many DVDs having extra features take hours of time to watch.

There are some key questions you need to ask yourself before buying a portable DVD Player Battery. First of all, thoroughly examine your need for a portable DVD player Battery and decide on the sort of features would you like to have - such as the size of the screen, the type of disc formats you want your player to be able to read, whether you want your player to have an output for playing your discs onto a larger TV, the need for the player to have virtual surround sound etc. Be clear in your mind on how much you can spend as your budget will be a key factor in determining the kind of options you can afford.

There are several brands available in the market for you to choose from. Major names like Sony and Phillips are reliable for customer service and quality; but the price will certainly be higher. Toshiba and Samsung brand portable DVD players are also high quality for a bit less price.

Based on the features you want, your preferred brand and the money you can spend, narrow your search to make a final decision about what portable DVD player to buy. Consider the price, features, quality and brand to decide which DVD Player to buy.
