Baby Showers-The Perfect Formula Begins With Organizational Skills

Babies no doubt could very well survive the first year of life with the bare basics. The bare basics of course meaning: love, food, shelter and clothing. A well organized baby shower planner knows it will take a whole lot more than that to insure an easy transition into toddlerhood. It will take one carefully planned step at a time.

The first thing on the to do list; is to speak to (new moms on the block) so to speak and find out what new products are out there. Baby products are updated often and what was in yesterday, is out today, and is nothing but a recollection tomorrow. Ask the new moms what present they received that made a real difference, took out the guesswork , or made things a little easier. Word of mouth is often the best advertising out there. Listening to the consumer directly takes out the guesswork from the false claims advertisers make.

Another great idea is to take a stroll in the baby furniture department at local shops and see what kind of nursery furniture is popular today. It might also be a good idea to invite the Mom-to-Be (by accident of course) to take a look with you. What kind of style does she prefer, white lacquer or wood grain? One great question for the Mom to Be might be, "How large is the nursery? Is she looking for a truckload of furniture or just the basics, a crib and changing table for the time being.

Once all of the big ticket items like the crib and stroller are figured out a great place to visit is one of the Baby store chains and fill out a Baby Registry. Most times, the new Mom joins the Registry in the hopes of someone throwing her a Baby Shower. The party planner won't mind handling that task herself in an organized manner of course. The list will include furniture for the nursery, a secure car seat for car rides and a carriage for afternoon strolls in the park. There will be clothing in neutral colors like green and yellow unless; Mom gets some big news before the baby's arrival. The baby shower planner will also check off baby wipes, bottles and bottle brushes, diapers, blankets, towels and shampoo and all sorts of things to keep baby looking brand new. She will check off diapers in all sizes, powder, ointment, bibs and formula too. Not to mention all the great ideas she picked up from the moms in the neighborhood too.

Once the party planner has it all figured out, she will have to think about where the best location for the party will be. Alot will depend on how many people she is expecting to attend. A small group of people can be easily accomodated in her home, while a large group would be better served at a restaurant or hall. Quite often, once the party planner announces plans for a baby shower, they'll find one or two other creative people that are willing to help out in any capacity they are needed. Whether that means chipping in a sum of money, cooking a favorite dish or sending out invitations to family and friends. The baby shower planner will arrange whatever is needed to get the job done by arranging various duties for each of her fellow party enthusiasts. The group will get together and decide on a menu and drinks and shopping will be done based on their decisons when the time is right.

Usually six weeks or so before delivery, the baby shower takes place. in the meantime, invitations and favors need to be picked out and decorations are chosen. If all goes well, which of course it will because the party planner and her fellow party enthusiasts will guarantee that happening, the party will be a complete surprise for the Mom to Be and the baby will have everything he or she needs!
