It used to be said that the best place to find a private investor is through personal contacts. At the time this was generally true but now the Internet is taking over as the best place to find a private investor; this is thanks to a little something called an investor club.

First let’s cover a few basics as what constitutes a private investor. They are in general successful entrepreneur that are specifically made up of figures such as CEO’s and business owners. Private investors such as these offer experience and contacts that are of great value to new business ventures. They are a common source of funding for early stage and start-up businesses. There are many of these private investors throughout the UK but they can often be hard to find if you don’t know where to start looking.

The role that this private investor plays in your business after their investment has been made can vary. Some of these private investors invest in a way that is known as passively, which basically means that once they have provided a company with money they play a limited role within the company. In other instances a private investor will provide your business with money and then seek to play a strong role in aspects such as a businesses decision making. This type of investor may want a seat on the board and control of some decisions. Other investors prefer to serve in an advisory or coaching role.

If you think about what happens to most new businesses you will start to understand why private investors are such a good idea. It is said that 75% of new businesses fail in their first year; the reason for this failure is mostly because of lack of commitment from the person who started the business. Also a staggering 90% of new businesses are out of business within two years of starting up; the main reasons for this is down to aspects such as lack of funding and managerial incompetence; both of these problems can however be overcome with the correct drive and determination as well as the help of a private investor.

A private investor will not only bring the necessary funding to a business but they will also provide their expertise and introduce you to a number of contacts within your area of business.

If you are one of these private investors and you are looking for a new venture to invest in then did you know you could find exactly what you are looking for with the help of an investor club?

Investor clubs were set up so that private investors could search the member database to find out about the latest business ventures that are available for investment and the best thing is you will be the first to know thanks to the exclusive membership of an investment club.

As well as helping private investors these investor clubs also help entrepreneurs who are looking for a private investor to fund their new venture meaning whether you are a private investor or an entrepreneur you are in a win, win situation!

Sign up to an investor club today and you will find what you are looking for as a private investor or entrepreneur in no time.
