Who wants to spend the holidays in Sardinia can take advantage of the multiple staying and accommodation opportunities. A land rich in different places so as to make possible a variety of vacation ideas and many tourist experiences.

Precisely because of the continuous change of scenery, Sardinia is defined by many almost a continent. Different scenarios, different territories, cultures and traditions that vary from town to town. A complete land Sardegne (final "e" marks plural in Italian, meaning that there is not only one Sardinia but many different Sardinians=Sardegne).

If the nature is the basic element that you are looking for when you plan your holidays, Sardinia is certainly the ideal choice. Sea, fantastic rocks, an enless number of different beaches, mountains, coasts, lowland areas, plateaus, rivers and lakes, rocky canyons, forests, marine and terrestrial parks, caves. You can still find unspoiled areas and many other small man-made environments. All this is likely to be experienced in the way that most suit the needs of travelers.

Thanks to its location in the Mediterranean and its morphological characteristics and climate, there are many opportunities to practice sports in Sardinia. From sea to mountain areas there is a wide range of natural scenarios perfect to practice different sports. For sport lovers and athletes, but also for those who want a vital, fun and relaxing holiday. A clean and crystal clear sea with different shades of colour, wonderful for diving. Jagged coast and bays accessible only by sea, ideal for those sailing the Mediterranean, with the possibility of finding the services of small marinas.

An agile and more economic means like canoeing is suitable to explore the rivers, lakes and coasts of the island. Wind and waves make Sardinia into a privileged destination, popular among professionals, to practice Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Surfing (in the South and West in particular).

Trekking, horse riding and mountain biking: these three sports are very popular among the tourists who go to Sardinia and want to spend many hours in contact with nature and admire the many animal and plant species surrounded by greenery and silence at the same time. These are activities that allow you to discover another Sardinia.

You can make suggestive riding in the sea or the hinterland or take alternative routes and see unusual landscapes in mountain biking. Trekking through many of the paths in the hinterland or in the coastal areas, also through the canyons for the more expert.

Sports requiring great physical and athletic preparation and courage, but also experience such as paragliding or climbing (the cliffs of the coastline of the Gulf of Orosei are fabulous and also those in Isili but there are also various peaks around the island).

These two are the most popular extreme sports in Sardinia. Let's not forget spelaeology. You can also practice different types of fishing, full water immersion, sitting by the sea or fishing combining the traditional fishing the option of staying aboard a boat and eat the fish.

Not least the exclusive golf, a sport always more widespread in the island thanks to the emergence of new green. Is Molas Golf Club (Pula), reachable in just 25 minutes by car from Cagliari, hosts every year in its 18-hole green many international golfers.

The Gallura offers two solutions: the Pevero, one of the most important of Sardinia, frequented by lovers of this discipline throughout the year and a smaller one (9 holes) Puntaldia, in Punta Sabatino. Other golf courses are in Oristano (Is Arenas Golf & Country Club in the Peninsula of Sinis) and Campidano (Settimo San Pietro).
