Buying a new home can be a very scary undertaking. Some home owners worry that they will not be able to secure a loan in order to buy their dream home, while others worry that they might not like the neighborhood where they have purchased their new home. While there are many stressful decisions that come along with buying a home, the process can also be fun and adventurous. New home owners often feel a sense of pride and ownership when buying their first home and are excited to make changes to the home to fit their personalities.

One change that many new home owners make after buying their home is to have the exterior house painting redone. Some home owners decide to have the exterior house painting redone because they do not feel that the current home painting color fits their personalities. Others find that the exterior house painting looks a little weathered and could use a repainting. Whatever the reason for deciding to have the home painting redone, some home owners do not know where to turn to find a reliable contracted painter in their new town. Some home owners even decide to hold off on the home painting because they fear they will hire a contracted painter that will complete a less than satisfactory job.

One way that you can find a reliable contracted painter in your new town is to ask the previous owners of their new home which painter they would recommend in the area. The previous home owners may have a good idea of someone that you could contact and they might also be able to tell you which painters to avoid. If you can not contact the home’s previous owners, you could always try asking your new neighbors if they could recommend any painters in the area. There should be at least a few neighbors that could point you in the direction of a contractor. You could the names of a few painters from a couple of your new neighbors and then begin narrowing down your selection.

When contacting a prospective contractor, make sure that you fully research the painter’s history as well as the history of their company. An exterior house painting is a big undertaking so you do not just want to hire any one for the job without researching their credentials. You could ask the contractor that you are considering hiring for any references they may have from previous exterior house painting jobs that you could contact to see how the previous projects went. You could also ask if the painter has a website or any examples of previous work they have completed.

Overall, be sure that the painter you decide to hire has completely gone over their contracting process and explained how much they will be charging as well as the reasons for those charges. Once you are presented with a contract, take some time to read through it before signing it and hiring the painter just to be sure that you and the painter are both on the same page.
