Luxury lighting is a must for any serious custom homeowner who makes a major investment in a residence that deserves the very best possible presentation. Not only do general light sources have to feature the very best commercial grade fixtures and carefully designed layered lighting effects, but keynote decorations such as fine art, custom cabinetry, ornate furniture, and elegant displays also require a luxury light source that appropriately highlights their aesthetic and function within the home. When it comes to lighting fine art, custom furnishings, and specialty displays, Phantom Contour Projectors and Phantom Linear Strip lights produce some of the most unique and aesthetically pleasing luxury lighting effects from apparently sourceless points of origin that accounts for our motto: “See the Light, Not the Fixture!”

Phantom Contour Projectors

The Contour Projector is the most user friendly and low-profile luxury lighting tool available to the private art collector. Generally, the Contour Projector is used for the lighting of expensive, original art whose sensitivity requires a light source that is completely free from the deleterious effects of infrared heat and ultraviolet light. While there are many luxury lighting fixtures available that feature advanced filtration and special lenses to strip the light of harmful radiation, only the Contour Projector combines effective filtration, impeccable special effects, (the “lighted from within” look) and ease of user adjustment in one simple, compact, and visually unobtrusive device.

Custom homeowners favor our projectors because they are much smaller in comparison to other luxury lighting art projectors. This makes them much easier to mount and configure in a home environment. Some clients with very large collections (and homes) have ordered as many as 12 Contours from our factory here in Houston, TX, although most clients typically order between 2-5 projectors. Six different type models of Contour Projectors are available through our network of Phantom Lighting Agents; with one model even being designed especially for retrofitting to older ceilings where cutting into the wood is not an option. This type of fine art luxury lighting for is very precise and works especially well when illuminating private, static art collections that remain more or less the same over long periods of time.

Galleries, on the other hand, have historically used track lights because they can be easily repositioned any time a new display is configured, or whenever there is a grand opening of a new artist. Surface mounted Contour Projectors have begun to show up more and more in museums and galleries, however, as new mounting equipment now allows the Contour Projector to be similarly mounted on a track and moved accordingly whenever a new piece is added to the collection, or when an entirely new theme is introduced to the gallery.

Phantom Linear Lighting Strips

Phantom Linear Lighting strips can be used for any number of luxury lighting applications that require an unseen fixture and a superior level of luminance. Because our LED strip lights are much smaller than many competing light sources, they can occupy places normally off limits to higher intensity—and much bulkier—incandescent, xenon, and fluorescent fixtures. While xenon lighting strips have traditionally been the preferred source of luxury lighting effects in coves, cabinets, and elegant display cases, all of this has changed with Phantom’s new 2800K and 2950K LED festoon lamps.

Long ago, LED technology established itself as a more durable and energy efficient source of luminance. Now, it has taken another giant leap forward into the realm of luxury lighting with the 2800K festoon lamps. These lamps (operating at only 1.7 watts) can produce a quality of light equivalent to the finest xenon lamps (operating at 5 watts) at only a fraction of the cost. Phantom manufacturing custom builds six separate lines of luxury strip lighting products capable of supporting these amazing new festoon lamps in a variety of variety of kitchen cabinet lighting, valance lighting, cove lighting, display lighting, and antique furniture lighting applications.

The new 2950K festoon LED provides a cooler temperature cabinet lighting source ideal for today’s contemporary kitchen designs. Both as an under cabinet light and an in-cabinet light, Phantoms AC (Adjustable Concealed) strips can be fitted with LED festoons to provide a dual-function luxury light source that is at once both practical and decorative. They offer the distinct advantage of completely wireless strip lights that replace visible wiring with brass shelf supports and buss bars that attach to the outside of the cabinet. This makes them all but invisible to the naked eye, and true luxury kitchen cabinet lights in every sense of the word when it comes to lighting today’s ornate, multi-functional, and eclectic custom kitchens.

As a cove light, the Phantom CM series is unsurpassed in both customization and hidden, sourceless light. Capable of bending to full 360-degrees to fit anything from a vaulted dome interior to a serpentine cove above a restaurant foyer, the CM series indirect cove strip lighting model can be fitted with either warm or cool colour temperature LED festoons to completely mimic the luxury lighting effects of xenon. Not only are LED cove lights more cost effective from an operations standpoint, but their 50,000-hour bulb light makes them a much better option than traditional light sources that have to be replaced at costly labor rates due to their high—and often hard to reach—position near the ceiling.

Any type of fine art specialty low voltage display cabinet lighting takes on a more rich and luxurious tone when sourced from apparently invisible Phantom linear strips. With custom vertical and horizontal mount series available, any bookshelf, antique case, or non-mirrored curio cabinet can be illuminated from within from a continuous, heatless lighting source. Warmer color temperatures are more common in these settings due to the complex blend of colors and patterns that characterize the interior design and architecture of today’s custom home, but any type of festoon lamp can be fitted to these strips depending on the nature and the location of the display.
