Email Marketing - Why You Must Build Your List Now

Let's get one thing straight right from the get go.You do not need to build a list to make money on the Internet. I just thought that I should mention this so that all the smart arsed people who are making money online without a list can just shut up. Anyway this message is not for you.This message is for you if you have or are thinking of starting your own Online Business, (meaning owning your own website).

Let's assume that you already have a website.You've made sure that your website looks good, its got brilliant ad-copy,web page loads very fast etc. You then start sending people to your wonderful website and you start making a few sales, you feel great and give yourself a big pat on the back. It just keeps on getting better and better for you. sales keep on coming in left right and centre. What the hell do you need a list for?

Well allow me to tell you. What I have just described to you is the absolute best scenario for your website. Here's the reality.Your website will get visitors, and if your lucky plenty of visitors but unfortunately for you most of them will not buy anything.

How Do I Know This? Well actually I do have my own website, and I do track and test things like all good online marketers should. But a far more compelling reason for you to build your own list, is that it has been proven by the top Internet Marketing boffins that visitors generally do not buy on their first visit to any given website.

I know it sucks but its the truth You are not a brand name like Amazon,McDonalds,or Britney Spears. YES! I did say Britney Spears. Brand names do not need to build a list, but I bet that most of them do, why wouldn't they want the names and address of their most loyal customers.

And you know what loyal customers do don't you? They keep on coming back again and again, but the only way that you can get loyalty from your customers is to have some sort of relationship with them. And how do you do this? by building a list of course. Now at this point you are probably thinking that all of this list building lark seems like sooo much hard work and I would rather just sell stuff from my website. About 10,000,000 other website owners feel exactly the same as you.

I will let you into a little secret. Building your list is easier than you think. Yes! I know you don't know what to write. Yes! I know that the mere thought of trying to write something to somebody you don't even know can make you just a little bit scared. Its only natural to fear the unknown. Every top Internet Marketer felt exactly the same way as you when they first started out, myself included, and I am no where near being a top marketer.

The only thing that sets me apart from you is my good looks (only joking) but seriously speaking, the only thing that sets me apart is a ability or need to express an opinion. After all everybody has one. My opinions stems from the frustration of not understanding something of which I was lead to believe was simple to do.Which basically means a sales pitch.

How many sales pitches or sales pages have you read that promised you the world and all of its riches in 6 months? To many to mention I bet, I've read more than my fair share too. This was the reason why I started my own news letter ,because I wanted to give people like yourself a realistic view, and not an over-hyped view of how to make money online.

You could say that I had a moment of clarity brought on by years of reading doggy sales pitches, it put some real fire in my belly that inspired me to build my own list. That's what you need just a little fire in your gut to get you going, and trust me stay involved in Internet Marketing long enough and that fire will come.
