Phil Gordon - Professional Poker Player Review Series

In the world of poker one of the unforgettable names is Phil Gordon. Rather known as the nice guy of poker. As of 2007 this poker player's winnings has exceeded $1,600,000. Though this poker player has not yet achieved any bracelet but still he is one of renowned tiger in the jungle of poker. He started his original race from the year 2001. On that year he snatched the fourth place in the World Series of Poker Championship event and he won $400,000. Phil Gordon made two final tables and got the sixth position in Pot Limit Hold'em and third position in Omaha 8/Better.

Phil Gordon get attracted to sports journalism in the year 2003. He analyzed the WSOP Championship Event for Binion's live internet broadcast. Along with that, he used to report for a national radio audience in a daily basis. Two players were knocked out by him in the year 2004 and he conquers the WPT's "Bay 101 Shooting Stars" tournament. When Phil Gordon was only 15 he reached the finals of National Merit Scholarship. This poker player is a graduate in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology before his 20's. He began his working carrier in the year 1989 after completing graduation.

Two years later Phil Gordon was offered to be a software architect by Herb Madan, in his company Netsys Technologies at Palo Alto, California. By the blessings of LAN and WAN market the company was purchased by Cisco Systems for $95 million. It made Phil Gordon rich man overnight. This poker player went across six continents and fifty countries. He has been to the islands of Zanzibar where he swum with the white sharks. He has climbed almost half a kilometer of Mount Kilimanjaro. With the Land Cruiser he ran over 20,000 kilometers in Australia. Phil Gordon knows how to live life king-size.

Phil Gordon is a member of the "Tilt Boys". The homepage is Tiltboys. This poker player has written three books on poker, Poker: the Real Deal, Phil Gordon's Little green Book: lessons and Teachings in No Limit Hold'em, and Phil Gordon's Little Blue Book: More lessons and Hand Analysis in No Limit Hold'em. Another feather in his crown is the release of an instructional DVD, Expert Insight: Final Table Poker. He has also written for poker magazines, and he is a regular column writer along with hosting podcast, The Poker Edge, for ESPN.

This giant poker player was born on 6th July, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His aunt first taught him poker who died of liver cancer later. He is a Board Member of the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation. He raised his funds by selling a tip booklet he wrote for Celebrity poker Showdown contestants. He has been supporting this charity since his Ultimate Sports Adventure fundraising tour in 2003-04. When poker was an uprising sport his fancy was caught by the media. His brushed up basic knowledge and his nonchalant play style made him a memorable and formidable player. It was just a short idea about the "Nice Guy", because there is no end to legends.
