Chimineas are attractive enclosed outdoor fireplaces that are based on a traditional clay fireplace typical to Mexico. They are now made in a range of exciting materials, designs and shapes and lend an exotic yet elegant look to any backyard. Chimineas make an interesting and functional centerpiece for your outdoor living area. You get the charm and coziness of an outdoor fire, with an unusual conversation piece containing the fire. An advantage that it has over other fire pits is that chimineas burn cleaner than pits.

Chimineas are a perfect way to add a touch of the whimsical to your outdoor living area.
Even when no fire is lit in it, a chiminea gives an otherworldly look to your yard. It is a throwback to earlier times and is a perfect addition to any garden of style. It will fit right into a Victorian yard, rustic backyard or even a contemporary one. You can easily find a design that matches any theme.

It is simple to create an inviting gathering area in your yard by simply making an attractive chiminea the focus of a sitting area created with patio furniture. You may even want to create a stone walkway leading from your patio to your outdoor fireplace area. This will encourage your guests and family members to come check out that particular spot and visit it often. The great thing about chimineas is that their unique draft system encourages the smoke to rise, so there is no bad spot around the fire where you are inundated with smoke. Thanks to this feature you can arrange the patio furniture in any seating pattern you choose, from the traditional circle to a horseshoe formation or in any other way.

Fire pits of all sorts have long been a feature of backyard socializing, however the variety of attractive and different fire pits on the market today are making it easier than ever to set up a new focal point for your yard in less than a day. A chiminea is not the traditional fire pit as we think of it. It actually resembles an old-fashioned stove more than anything, but because of their airflow and the shape of it, chimineas burn cleaner than any other type of outdoor fire pit. This reduces soot, the necessity of frequent cleaning and the unpleasantness that comes from sitting downwind of a fire.

Your new outdoor living area can be used for family chats, as a way to relax after the kids are in bed, for socializing with company, for entertainment and as the hub of your backyard. Just call up some friends, get the family together and head out to the inviting area created around your clean burning chiminea for some good, simple, old-fashioned fun. Everyone will go home relaxed and happy after a tranquil evening together in front of a warm fire with none of the lingering smoke in their hair or soot on their clothes.
