For a preschooler it is always easy to learn when it is fun. I have found a few ways to help you and your preschooler to make learning ABC’s fun. These few ways can also help your preschooler remember their ABC’s. Children always remember anything that is fun.

1. Put some finger paint into a Ziploc bag, gallon size works best. Then lay the bag down on a flat surface and flatten it out. Make sure that it is pretty even all over. Press your finger into the bag and draw out the letter of your choice. This can also be done with rice. It will take right much rice. You will need to follow all the above steps. Fill the Ziploc to the top with uncooked rice.

2. Get some construction paper and a marker. Draw out the letter of your choice. Have some Macaroni shells and some glue and let your preschooler glue the shells onto the letter. They will enjoy this and remember that letter every time they look at their mater piece.

3. Get some colored construction paper. Cut it into equal squares. Write down each letter on its own square. You should do capital letters and lower case letter. You will end up with 52 cards. Show them to your preschooler. Let them get to know the letters. Then lay out the cards and let your preschooler match up the Capital letters to the lower case letters. This is very enjoyable for your preschooler. They will play for hours and learn at the same time. Example of a match A a B b…..

4. If you have extra magazines lying around the house here is another good learning method that I have found to be a great learning experience. Work with your preschooler first on a letter of your choice. Then allow them to cut (with safety scissors) out that particular letter. They can then take all the cut out letters and glue them onto a piece of construction paper. This makes most preschooler very proud and a feeling of accomplishment.

5. Having a good set of ABC magnets are also a great learning tool. It can be fun and entertaining. Just put them on your refrigerator low enough for your preschooler to reach and again go over those ABC’s with them and let them go. You will be amazed how much a preschooler will learn on their own. This will be another method of learning where your preschooler will play for hours.

Preschoolers need a fun learning process. It makes learning for them and you so much fun. It will help them and you grow closer together and are ahead of most children their age when starting school. Fun Learning has been a proven fact in our family. I have used it on all five of my children. We have used each on of these fun learning methods and the children love them. My 5 and 6 year old still love to do these even though they know their ABC’s. These learning methods have made teaching my children so much fun and enjoyable to us all.
