School shopping is something students need to do every couple years. We all want to keep up with the new styles and love to get new clothes once and a while. The only problem with school shopping is that it can be quite expensive. The stores at the mall seem to just keep raising their prices every year. It’s now common to pay $50.00 for a pair of jeans!
College students have a tight budget as it is and when school shopping comes around it only makes it harder to save some money and put it in the bank. Although school shopping can be extremely expensive it doesn’t have to be! Read below and get some ideas on how you can start saving your money on school shopping.

Sales – Only get your school clothes when there is a sale. You never want to pay full price for anything these days. This goes for school clothes, groceries and all your other purchases you make. Always wait for a sale. You can always get what you want on sale you just have to be patient.

Check out clearance – You can be surprise what you may find on the clearance racks. Sometimes stores order too much of an item or it’s out of season and it goes clearance. Always attempt to look at the clearance racks when it comes to school shopping.

What season is it? – Another great way to save money on school shopping is shopping by season. Stores clearance items that are out of season. Try and pick up clothes that are out of season and plan to wear them the next year. So for example if it is winter time shop for summer and if it is summer time shop for the winter. This tip can save you a ton of money!

Shop early – Try to pick up a few things here and there. When we shop at the last minute we don’t pay attention to sale items and just buy what we need. If you start your school shopping early you can get more clearance items that you like and end up saving a lot in the long run.

E-mail – Do you have an e-mail account? If so let the store you like shopping at know! When you sign up for e-mail alert a lot of times the store will send you coupons in your e-mail. For example you may get a coupon that says “30% your entire purchase”. This can help you save a lot of money on your school shopping so consider this tip.

Thrift stores – You may already be downing this idea but just give it a chance. Go shopping in a thrift store and I guarantee you will come out of the store with something in your hands. There are a lot of clothes that are donated there if the store went out of business, when in clearance if there were too many ordered. You can get a lot of clothes that have never been worn, and still have tags on them. Be sure to try shopping at thrift store before you knock it.

School shopping doesn’t have to be all that bad. You can get a lot of clothes for a cheap price if you shop the right way. Consider the tips above and see how much money you can save throughout the years.
