When you’re looking for a Spanish destination that has it all, Marbella is fast becoming the place to be for tourists, travelers and people wanting to buy Marbella property. A beautiful coastal district with Mediterranean climates and landscape, the resort was once a small fishing village full of white houses sitting on the coast of the Costa del Sol. That village is now a thriving, historic, environment with beautiful boulevards, 24km of beaches, and a cosmopolitan edge. Its yacht harbors attract the rich and famous, and ease of access with local airports and excellent roads attract all kinds of tourists from all over the world, making it an exciting, safe and unique town. Lets look at five reasons why it is the place to live and why people are buying Marbella property in this ideal town.

Cheap flights leave from all over the UK

Many people agree that Marbella is in the ideal location. With an airport nearby in Malaga ‘Pablo Ruíz Picasso’, which is only 45km away, there are regular bus and taxi services to Marbella from the airport, or you could choose to hire a car. With cheap flights from London airports, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Bristol, you really can access flights from all over the country, so it’s easy to invite people over to visit or pop back to the UK to visit family and friends. With flight times averaging just over two hours, Marbella is fast becoming a popular home-from-home for many UK residents. The airport itself offers direct flights to destinations all over Europe, so Marbella really is at the heart of it all.

The region has much to offer in affordable property.

From quiet coastal areas to more urban parts of the district, the Marbella property market offers some expensive villas and apartments, but there is also a great deal of affordable properties as well. Even though it is one of the most sought-after locations in Europe, local property prices have been coming down for a while now and there are some real bargains at the moment. After a high demand for property and rise in prices, the market has dropped off, making it the ideal time to invest in Marbella property. The enduring popularity of the Costa del Sol ensures a worthwhile investment opportunity. With one of the best year-round climates in Europe, property in this historic area really is a viable option.

The Costa del Sol has the best European climate.

Being in the Mediterranean the area has sunshine most days of the year, including the winter months. This means that there are plenty of outdoor activities to have fun with as well as escaping from the British winter weather. It also means that there are a variety of tropical parks, blooming boulevards and gardens, window boxes and balconies. The blue skies, green environment and long beaches make Marbella one of the most beautiful locations in Spain for relaxing in the sun on the white sand, or enjoying a meal outside one of the many unique restaurants and other eating places.

Although a modern town, Marbella is steeped in history.

Marbella has a much-loved historical quarter, with beautiful balconies full of flowers and narrow streets, the Orange Square and Moorish Castle. The castle is an impressive sight, with many locals passionate about its preservation. There are numerous churches and chapels, festooned with ornate decoration both inside and outside. One of the most popular and picturesque parts of the Old Town is the Ricon de la Virgen, which is a statue of the Virgin Lady, wrapped in blooming vines.

There are plenty of ways to relax.

With more than 40 golf courses around the Costa del Sol (including several in Marbella) and a wide range of sports facilities, you will never be stuck for things to do, whether it’s enjoying the miles of beautiful sandy beaches or visiting the nearby cities of Sevilla, Granada and Malaga. Many people like to visit the small boutiques, galleries and Al Fresco restaurants in the Old Town, and at night down by the water the various clubs and bars offer an exciting evening.
