Effective Marketing With Vehicle Graphics

Advertising is very often a major component of a company’s marketing budget. Television, radio, newspaper or flyer ads, almost every company, small or large, will invest in advertising. However, how effective is your current preferred method of advertising your business?

Vehicle wraps are the hottest new form of mobile advertising. Vehicle wraps are full color graphics that are printed onto removable vinyl strips and applied to vehicles. Wrap advertising, also called vehicle graphics, can be either partial or completely cover a vehicle. It in fact turns your vehicle into a mobile billboard.

Vehicle wraps are popular because they take the message directly into the marketplace. They allow marketers to target specific demographics in key areas. And they are effective. Statistics have shown that a good design wrap of graphics on a vehicle can draw up to 70,000 views a day. 

Research suggests that vehicle graphics advertising works. Outdoor Advertising Magazine recently published that outdoor mobile media billboards have a 97% recall rate and 96% of survey respondents thought mobile advertising is more effective than traditional outdoor advertising. The company 3M and the American Trucking Association noted that 91% of the target noticed the text and graphics on truck advertising, and the Traffic Audit Bureau suggested that on local routes, monthly impressions ranged from one to four millions hits. These numbers are impressive. Another study on vehicle graphics advertising from Product Acceptance and Research said that 94% of respondents recalled seeing the vehicle wrap, with 80% recalling the specific advertisement. The studied wrap advertisements resulted in a sales increase of 107%.

Vehicle graphics are less expensive than you might think. A well designed vehicle vinyl wrap will pay for itself within months, days or even hours in some cases. Vehicle wraps can make thousands upon thousands of impressions everyday. Over time those impressions become multiple impressions...your brand and service become ingrained into your potential buyers minds and eventually even “John Doe” will call, because you made an impression on him with the vehicle graphic wrap on your car, van or truck. Most companies agree that outdoor advertising is cheap advertising in the sense that it makes so many more impressions over time than any other form of advertising.

With an average vehicle wrap costing around $3,000, it is money well spent. Especially when you consider how much you are paying for banner ads or pay per click, or the cost of your flyer mailer campaigns. The return on investment can be much more interesting with wrap advertising. This is particularly true when you consider that the average vehicle wrap can last three to five years depending on your location.

When evaluating the best ways to spend your advertising budget, remember to include vehicle graphics. Not only is it a fairly affordable form of advertising, it will allow you to make constant, consistent contacts everywhere you go. Given the life span of a vehicle wrap, your initial investment will in fact represent pennies per day and while reaching tens of thousands of potential buyers every single day.
