If your computer is running slow or down right sluggish or you are getting error messages, it may be your windows registry needs to be cleaned out. The registry keeps track of all the data that go in and out of your computer. And after time the registry gets bloated.

A good scan of your computers registry would let you know exactly what should not be there. And then just a good registry tool would fix the problem.

Spyware is one other danger and can make your PC not work properly. Perhaps you wouldn't know it, but if scanned every nook and cranny, you could discover that there are malicious files that have been embedded in you PC. These are being referred to as spyware.

Spyware are considered to be pests in the lives of Internet and computer users. They may present themselves as software that will urge you to download them into your system. However, unknown to you, they will remain into your PC and even in your registry, which makes it very hard for you to delete them.

So what does spyware do? Initially, they gather all of your personal information without your permission. However, they are not only limited to that. A spyware can also cause damage to your Internet activity. This is because it can redirect your activities on the Web. If you have noticed that there is additional software installed on your computer that you do not recognize, then it could mean that it is spyware is responsible.

The best thing that you can to do to avoid spyware, is to just make sure you know what you are downloading and where it is coming from. So unless it comes from a reliable source, fight the urge to download them.

Nothing still beats being an ardent research before you download any item, or else, you may land dangerous software. It may take a while, but definitely, you can find something that will help you confirm if it's going to be software worth downloading. But where do you search? There are many possible areas. You can read news from technology and news websites. If you want to get first-hand information coming from Internet users, you can go to forums such as message boards and chat rooms or subscribe to news groups.

You could also read some blogs from the software experts. Majority of them are more than willing to share any information they can obtain from the latest released software in the market. You can surely get a pointer or two which of them are worth keeping into your PC and which ones you should avoid. If you have further questions, you can even send them an e-mail, and they can provide you with the right answers.

So if your computer is just not running the way it use to. Then only way to find out is to do a good scan. And maybe you'll get lucky and it won't be any dangerous spyware - it will just be a bloated registry that needs a good cleaning tool.
