Once you’ve narrowed down these states, isolate specific locations where you want to start looking for the perfect holiday vacation spot.

Now, there might be a chance that you don’t exactly fit with these two vacationer profiles. Perhaps you’re a small town man or woman, and you’d like to rest somewhere where it’s not too peaceful. A city vacation may be your thing.

In this case, you can go about your predicament in two ways: stay in the United States or go abroad. There are enough bustling cities in the US to fill two or three handheld GPS units, but if these do not suit your own peculiar taste, then of course, going abroad would be the best recourse.

If you’re eager to find the best deals on leather goods, then a short walk through the main streets of Paris would have you reaching for your wallet or purse in no time.

London is another favorite tourist spot; this place offers a wonderful mixture of old meets new- architecture. A city vacation would be as relaxing as a beach vacation- if you prefer concrete roads to warm sands.

The Budget

All our vacation rental plans wouldn’t come to life if we don’t have a projected budget on our hands. So that is why your budget should be your foremost consideration when you’re already on the hunt for that perfect holiday house. The very first thing that you should remember is: always, always stick to what you have.

Remember, the purpose of house hunting is precisely to fit your needs with your budget (which is usually limited). Don’t fall in love completely with the first beautiful house you see by the beach, because you might commit the first “crime” in house hunting- impulsiveness.

Make a list of the places that you would prefer, and list all the potential properties that you can afford. Make sure that you “sleep over” the decision.
