You just got engaged and you are ecstatic to start planning your big day in your hometown in Phoenix. You want every detail of your wedding to reflect you and your fiancé’s personality, from the gown to shoes, flowers to favors so it is essential to choose a color scheme right from the start so that everything included in the wedding will complement each other.

Wedding color schemes is very important because its sets the mood for the ceremony and the celebration afterward. Traditional weddings illustrate sophistication and simplicity by dictating classic white for the bride and just a few hints of pastels for the bouquet. But as the age for modern brides has arrived, adding more color is introduced into the color scheme.

Color schemes will also work wonders for your wedding photographs and videos. It is much better to choose vibrant colors because this will bring life in your wedding photography Phoenix.

When deciding on your color scheme, there are many factors to consider. One way to keep in mind is that your wedding should be a reflection of both your personalities so it is an excellent starting point to look around the colors of your home. This will serve as your guide on the best colors that best describes the both of you.

The style of the wedding is a big aspect of choosing the wedding color scheme. If it is traditional, white with an accent of red, gold and pink will make sense. You can have fun with brighter colors at the reception location later on. If you opt for more colors and textures, then the colors must still center on the shade of the bride’s gown and her bouquet. These are determined according to the bride’s preference, her eye and hair color and her skin tone. Bridesmaid dresses and matching shoes should be picked out from the color scheme but these should not attract attention away from the bride.

The time of the year will also play a big part in your choice. Pastels are a safe option for spring and summer. Natural greens, oranges and violets are best in autumn and shades of gold, red and silver will work well in winter.

Ceremony and reception location can also influence your color scheme. Churches and chapels are usually dim inside. This can pose as a problem for your wedding photography Phoenix if your scheme calls for darker colors. In your wedding venue, the colors of curtains and carpets will tend to dominate the room and may possible clash with your chosen color scheme. It is best to plan a visit to these locations with your wedding planner to come up with ways on how to brighten up the place to harmonize with the color scheme.

To help you make up your mind, it will be a great help to create a mood board with all the colors and textures that appeal to you. You can use magazine cuttings, pieces of fabrics and other inspirational items.

Also inform your guests on the mood and theme of the wedding. You can impart this information through your wedding invitation. A formal black and tie theme can be reflected in an elegant and classic
card. The design of your wedding card will reflect the level of formality of the event so they will not show up overdressed.

Whatever color scheme you choose, visualize the effect and plan it well. It can be traditional white with accents of gold or romantic red just as long as you complement everything with your own personal style. Having a color scheme will surely create a visual treat for your guests and set the ambiance you want, whether it’s romantic or simply formal.
