As long as you understand a few basic principals, you can easily get rid of fat thighs. Of course, while it’s not complicated, I wouldn’t label it as “easy” either as you still have to put the effort in. In order to get rid of fat thighs - and body fat in general - there are a few things you need to understand.

My 1st Tip On How To Get Rid Of Fat Thighs = You can’t spot reduce

This is more of a fact than a tip. Basically what it means is that you can’t pick a certain part of your body - in this case, your fat thighs - and expect to lose weight specifically off that one area. Sure, if you want to lose body fat, you can certainly do so. Just bare in mind that if you implement all the necessary strategies to get rid of fat thighs, the fat will come off your entire body. Of course, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

My 2nd Tip On How To Get Rid Of Fat Thighs = Do circuit training

Circuit training - which involves moving from exercise to exercise with minimal rest between transitions - is the best way to train for fat loss. You’ll get cardiovascular benefits, you’ll be toning via the strength exercises and for the icing on the cake - circuit training manipulates hormones that enhance the fat burning process. And since circuit training combines strength training with cardio - it will save you a lot of time as you won’t have to do them both separately.

Since you're looking to tone up your thighs, a sample lower body circuit would look something like this..

Bench Step Ups / Dumbbell Lunges / Squats with an overhead dumbbell press thrown in

Of course, there's all sorts of different exercise combinations that you can use. The possibilities are endless.

My 3rd Tip On How To Get Rid Of Fat Thighs = Eat often, but eat healthy

The formula to weight management seems simple - you need to create a calorie deficit. In other words, you have to burn more calories than you ingest. Now, a lot of people hear that and assume that they can lose weight simply be not eating. When people go on these starvation diets, they lose weight initially. However, our bodies - being as adaptive as they are - respond to the restricted calorie intake by basically slowing the rate at which it burns calories. The solution - and I’m sure you’ve heard it before - is to eat more frequently, but limit your portion sizes and ensure that you’re eating well balanced meals.

I think this is where most people get confused. Sure, you should be eating frequently but you have to be eating the right types of food in order for it to be effective for weight management.

So what are the right foods?

Well, your diet should always be high in protein - especially if you're training with weights (as you should be). As for the carbohydrates - which is where most people get confused - you should be eating foods that rank between low-to-medium on the glycemic index.

The glycemic index is a scale that ranks foods by how they effect your blood sugar. If you're eating high glycemic carbohydrates all the time, your blood sugar levels will fluctuate more and you will likely store body fat as a result.

And speaking of fat - dietary fat isn't the enemy. Some fat is actually good for you. Unsaturated fats will actually prevent heart disease as well as serving all sorts of other beneficial purposes throughout your body.

Now, I know that I'm making all this sound easy but the truth is, creating a well balanced meal plan from scratch is tough. Everything has to be calculated and it's not like I expect you to pull out a calculator at every meal and start calculating the percentage of fats, carbs and protein.

For that reason, I highly recommend you look into getting yourself set up on a pre-designed eating plan. Notice I didn't say "diet"? Diets don't work - as I'm sure you already know - so what you need to do is adopt a complete lifestyle change and not opt for a temporary solution.
