If you have experienced the grief and frustration caused by a slow computer, error messages on startup, freezing and crashing of your computer for no apparent reason, having to wait for entire minutes for your computer to execute the simplest task like opening an Excel application - then you know how important and crucial it is to keep your Windows PC registry in a good working condition.

Registry Error Tools

There are tens of registry error tools available these days. These utilities scan your PC registry, remove duplicate and obsolete entries as well as delete and fix conflicting objects.

Microsoft's Windows XP but in particular Vista operating system has proven to have a lot of bugs and errors. In particular, this is seen in the Windows registry. What is the registry? How do these errors occur? And how do you repair them...

Role of the Windows Registry

The role of the windows registry is to ensure that your computer works efficiently and at an optimal performance level at all times. The problem with the Windows registry is that over time errors start to accumulate and cause your PC to slow down, crash without reason and just plain frustrate you - the user.

In these occasions your only option is to repair your registry. Doing so will save you both headaches and money in the long run. Why is that?

As errors accumulate in the registry, they result in slow startup time of your computer or slow shutdown time. Your PC will spurt out error messages you don't understand and drive you insane in the process. More seriously, these errors could lead to the crippling of your PC if you don't solve these issues.

Registry Repair Tools

A good registry repair tool works by performing a detailed scan of your computer in search for errors and removes them instantly. It speeds up your computer so that it runs at its optimal performance - just like when you first bought it.

They usually come with the option to schedule the registry scans for timely cleaning on a regular basis - ensuring your Vista or XP registry remains error free always.

More on the Windows Registry

This is a central database used in MS Windows 98, NT, XP, 2000 or Vista. It stores information necessary to configure the system for applications and hardware devices. The Registry contains information that the OS continually references during operation. It replaces most of the text-based .ini files that are used in Windows 3.x and MS-DOS configuration files, such as the Autoexec.bat and Config.sys. Although the Registry is common to several Microsoft operating systems, there are some differences among them.

Common Registry Errors

* Runtime Errors
* RUNDLL Errors
* Blue Screen of Death
* ActiveX Control errors
* Startup Errors
* Internet Explorer Errors
* DLL Errors
* System Crashes
* IExplore and System32 Errors
* sass.exe , svchost.exe Errors
* Windows Media player Errors

If you are experiencing any of these errors, the smartest thing to do is to repair them immediately.
